Er spammer?
I'll bite because I don't think I've answered--I do think Aladdin is overall my favorite character because he's relatable and "Proud of Your Boy" is the Disney song I most relate to but there isn't a character I don't like.
Jasmine's a close second because come on, she's kind of awesome.
And Genie for all the reasons you mentioned!
Jafar also may or may not be my spirit animal.
Seriously I can't pick a favorite..

There are some clever lines in the series that give a rare glimpse at his wisdom. Two of my favorites:
That Stinking Feeling:
Quote:
Aladdin: (to Iago) I can't believe you would use Uncouthma this way.
Jasmine: (to Iago) How could you?
Genie: (using his eyes as binoculars) Yeah, that's their job.
and The Spice is Right:
Quote:
Aladdin: (sigh) I'm gonna lose her, Genie, and it's all my fault.
Abu: Oh...
Genie: You're right kid. All your fault.
Aladdin: Huh?
Genie: You know, the situation. Mingle with zombies, pay the price. You have every right to feel like a creep. Creep.
Aladdin: Now, wait a minute here! How was I supposed to know giving Jasmine a gift was gonna unleash that guy!
(Genie sticks a fish in Aladdin's mouth.)
Genie: (dressed as an animal trainer) Good boy! Aladdin will encore with a double somersault through seven fiery hoops, but, for his next trick... (changes back to normal) he'll stop blaming himself so we can put the kibosh on Count Dracula.

First of all, I love the Aladdin universe and mostly all of its characters. I just love them, but if I had to choose then my choice would be Genie. Don't get me wrong, the others are good too, it just the fact that Genie is not just my favourite from the franchise, but he's one of my favourite characters of all time.
Why he is my favourite?
To be honest, not his comedy was the fact that made me love him. I love him because he's a lot more than a lot of people sees him. Yeah, he's the funny guy but under the skin there's just so much more. Just think about it: he had been serving jerks like Jafar (maybe some of them were not so bad) for thousands of years before he met Aladdin and he still can see the bright side of the life. He has a big caring heart, a true friend and his deeper/serious side just makes him more likable in my opinion. He is the one who still moves my imagination (okay, the whole Aladdin universe do this, but mostly Genie is the one who actually moves it) and a lot of characters of mine came up when I thought about him, mostly girls.
Does that mean he's a lover/boyfriend? Not at all. Since the very beginning, I've always seen him as a true friend, a brother and as a father, but not as a boyfriend. I don't know, I just can't imagine him like that (I can a little bit after reading fanfics about Genie falling in love) even though he would be very good at it (you're very lucky Eden).
It makes sad that he's immortal and can't be with Aladdin forever. He may stay with his family, but he would lost his buddy, his Al, the one who first saw him as a friend, not just an object. The one who freed him.
I just wish that he was real. I would like to be with him, talking to him all the time. I'm sure my life wouldn't be boring with him around.

My favorites, In no particular order:
Aladdin. Like someone in this thread said earlier, he's a great hero -- flawed, but still very likable. Usually I wind up liking the supporting good guys more then the main hero, but Aladdin was written very well and therefore earned a place in my favorites line-up.
Genie. A hillarious, charming character. I don't have a problem with Dan Castellaneta voicing him myself. It didn't bother me as a child, and it doesn't to this day when I watch the show.
Cassim. Even tho he only showed up in KOT, I still really like him. A intriguing rogue who's love for his son won out over his love of wealth. Plus, he's pretty fly for a old guy.
Iago: I've heard pple say before that he didn't really fit into the gang, but me myself, I can't picture Al and co. without him. Personally, an ex-villain made a nice addition to the group -- no one else was sarcastic and edgy like Iago. It was entertaining to watch him wrestle with his bad traits thruout the series.
Eden. Funny, sweet, and spirited. I liked her immediately when she was introduced, and still do.
Thundra. Quite possibly one of my favorite series characters. She was fiery, but could be regal, and I thought she was a great match for Iago.
Rajah. Even tho he wasn't focused on all that much, I love his loyalty to Jasmine and co. and his willingness to take on anyone who threatened them. BTW... Rajah is male, right? Because I remember seeing something (can't recall what or where it was) that refereed to him being female.
Carpet. For a character who didn't talk, he sure had a lot of personality. He was very spirited, mannerly, smart, and brave, and I love that about him!

Genie. Comical, very nice when you can manipulate the matter around you & shape shift for comical purposes.

I don't know. It varies by the movies, I guess, but I would have to say that Cassim and Aladdin have a tie. Those two are my absolute favorites. Or no, maybe Iago and Genie, those probaby have a tie for second place.

I KNOW.
But I can't internet shop, my mother would kill me, and, try as I might, there's no way to keep it secret if I use her credit card.
Even if I do pay her back. That's how I got a couple dozen Animorphs books and (coincidence?) the original Aladdin DVD, but alas, she won't have it if I do it again.

It's called WallyWorld here, too. Must be a Tennessee/Kentucky thing
You can get each DVD seperate at amazon.com for 8 bucks each. Don't ask me why it's cheaper to get them by themselves instead of together.
