I don't either, but watching the auditions is the best part . After that, they can keep the rest of the show. |

I remember that! I wasn't sure if I wanted to cry or laugh. |

I only ever watched one episode of American Idol: it was the first episode of season 3. I really wish I'd taped it, because they had a medley of all the horrible auditions where they sang "A Whole New World". I guess every year there's one song... |

*shakes head* Because Ruben Studdard, American Idol Winner, sang the song and everyone loved it. So the following year, EVERYONE thought they could sing it and that they would increase their chances of getting on the show.
I remember I was reading an article about how many people sang that song, but all I remember from it is Simon saying if he heard that song again he was going to hurt someone |

Why is it that a huge number of "Idol" auditions have to have "A whole new world"? I watched "Canadian Idol" and the first (of 2 AWNW auditions) AWNW audition the man sang the song lyrics out of order. He sang it lstartying from Jasmine's verse, then goes to the first chorus before he was stopped. It took place in Prince Edward Island
Oh and BTW the second one (also failed) took place in Montreal - good thing they don't sing "Un Nouveau Monde" here. |
