[b]Destane [/b]always struck me as a take-off of "Destiny"

[b]Arbututs [/b]- which villain was this? I forget. When I know maybe I can make my theory.

[b]Aladdin[/b] is a real name; I know someone named Ala Adin. He changed his name to "Alex" when he moved to America. (You want ironic? His wife's name is "Jasmine." I think Aladdin means "little hero," but I can't remember.

[b]Jasmine[/b]... duh... Jasmine is a flower. There are also many variations of Jasmine that have semi different meanings like "olive plant" etc.

[b]Jafar[/b] - I read once in a Baby Names book that this name means "little river," but his name isn't on the Baby Names website. I'm used to the ALaddin's villain's name being [b]Rasheed[/b], which means "to guide or advise."

[b]Iago [/b]- Latin for "Supplanter." To supplant is to trick, so I think the name is appropriate. Also, Iago is a character in Shakespeare's [i]Othello[/i].

[b]Genie[/b] - [i]A supernatural creature who does one's bidding when summoned. [/i]

___In the original story, the Genie is often know as the [i]djinn[/i], which is a variation of the word "Jinnie."

Under this name, the Theban god Amun became the national god of Egypt. Pharaohs considered themselves to be sons of Amun-Ra. Displaced during Akhenaten's rule, he was restored to full power afterwards.
