Remember how in the Lion King DVD they killed that "father son" moment with Simba and Mufasa, when Mufasa teaches Simba how to tackle Zazu? (or however you spell it) They cut that part in half and interrupted the moment with a stupid "daily report" song and dance by Zazu and a few other animals. I was soooo mad! They didn't do anything like that on the Cinderella DVD did they? Like, maybe at the part where her dress was changing and sparkles were flying everywhere, they cut the scene right in the middle suddenly and added some nonsense in? They didn't do that in the Aladdin DVD did they?? (still saving up my money to buy it)
Because kids were not responding to it well during screen tests. I've seen reports say they were running around in the isles while that scene was going because they were bored with it
*Hides Lit Journal*
I did *not* rant about that for a full page when we were reading the narrative of John Smith.

Actually, there is another DVD with an additional scene, Pocahontas Special Addition - If I Never Knew You. But it was the right thing to do completely, I don't understand why they cut it from the original in the first place. It's such a beautiful song, and there was already so much of it in the score.
I'm not -that- fond of Morning report, but I don't think it's that huge of a deal. It's kinda cute, though I'm deeply disturbed by the difference between Jason Weaver's voice and the new guy...it almost seems like they were just being lazy and settled for the first person they could find to sing Simba's part in the song. As far as ruining the father/son moment, I think it's okay, seeing as later the scene where Mufasa tells Simba about the kings of the past is the real father/son moment of the movie. Now, if they'd added in an obnoxious song
there
, then there'd be trouble

That's what I thought too when I saw the Aladdin musical. Since they had added songs in BathB and TLK. I thought "To be Free" was going to be in the Aladdin Platinum edition. It made sense. Because the instrumental songs in the movie played the melody alot. Plus, Jasmine is the princess she does deserve a song at least.

Oh, "Human Again" is a wonderful addition.
All of the voice actors came back for it, great melody, really singable... and the creators actually modified the backgrounds of the Beast/Lumiere/Cogsworth scene right after the HA number to match the clean-up montage. Coolness.

Wow. TLK was ruined by the extra song, BaTB, honestly, wasn't, I think. I love that "Human Again" song. Did they add anything to other films?
Nope, just those two

I saw the difference right away even though I haven't watched the movie in ages. It's like, my favorite part, Mufasa teaching Simba how to pounce innocent birds.

Aw, great, and TLK was one of the ones that gave me my start with cats. I just loved the lions so much, that I started reading about them, started reading about all cats, and so forth. And now they changed Simba's voice.

They just added that one scene. You almost can't tell it was added until you actually realize it's not there in the original, but it's really obvious once Simba starts to sing. His singing voice is different.

Personally, it always reminds me of Janette. The type of thing she comes up with.
