I haven't seen it, but I consider it canon when it suits my fanfics. I think Mechanikles loses a lot of his charm if he's not really a Greek. So, the episode pretty much works as a "Disney did it, so I can do it, nyah nyah!" thing for me.
That's the way I look at it with Disney, mostly. I look at it as another time and place completely. Though, since a time period was mentioned in both Hercules and Aladdin, when I write Aladdin fanfics, it's as if the Hercules episode never happened.
And, I always believed Mechanicles was Greek, but came after the stories in mythology.

See, you're annoyed by the time difference and I'm constantly annoyed by the fact that Hades knows of Hercules's existance
They meet after KOT in our canon, but then meet in the middle of Hercules while he's training with Phil on the island in their canon. The whole thing is whacked in time difference, but it's a funny ep because Hades and Jafar were great with their laughing
.

Even if the time periods were messed up,I always loved that episode. It was nice to see an episode where Al and Jas were already married (they mention it somewhere),and the comedy between Jafar and Hades was hysterical!

Eh, I think it's Aladdin-related enough.
Anyway, haven't actually watched it before, but I've read the transcript and heard audio clips and from what I saw it's pretty funny. I don't really consider it "canon" though because of what you mentioned; can't work out the time difference.
The one theory I've seen to try and explain that is that time doesn't work the same way in Hades's realm, but that doesn't really explain everything.
The only Ancient Greek who showed up in the actual series was Mechanikles, but, then, he was
insane
. He might have been a Byzantine who just
thought
he was from Ancient Greece.

Post subject: Hercules & the Arabian Night
Ya know, where to post this topic was very confusing, since the episode had Aladdin in it.
Anyway, since we're all Aladdin fans here, I want to know what everybody thought of the episode.
Personally, I thought it was a funny episode, but there's just one problem. Hercules was around BEFORE the Aladdin story took place. Even if we're talking Disney, I still think the Hercules story happened centuries before. (I think a year might have been mentioned in the movie, but I'm not sure.)
Any thoughts?
