Did you know that he pulled the barb from his chest before he died? That man was AWESOME right up to the end.
He's still awsome to me even in death

It was long believed by Irwin and a good friend of his that if he was ever going to die, it would probably be the ocean, because the ocean was the only place where he'd be far enough from his element to be in any real danger.
I think, though, it was the way he wanted to go. On the job, doing what he loved, you know? I just feel bad for his wife and kids.

My sister loved his stuff. She was so sad and my Dad couldn't stop talking about to other people. At least, he died doing what he loved. People have died in worse ways.
I too thought he would have died in croc-related accident. The stingray element came out of left field for me.

I didn't know until last night. Animal planet was showing a documentry on Steve Irwin. I was like" Cool ! Confessions of the Crocadile hunter!" and then they showed a trailer about his life and said that he passed on.

This guy was a huge, huge, huge influence on my brother, so I feel almost personally affected by his death. His poor family; it sounds as though they broke the story before Terri Irwin knew. RIP, Steve.
I still think this feels like a sick joke.
It's so hard to believe, even if many people suspected that he would die doing his job. I'm sure he knew and understood all of the risks of what he did...I think he was very brave for taking such risks so that others could learn about the fascinating animals in the world.

I was so surprised when I found out this morning. The thing is, I always wondered if something like this would happen (he took a lot of risks, after all). I just assumed that it would be a croc, not a sting ray. I feel bad for his family.

Post subject: Crocodial Hunter Dead
Steve Irwin or as most know him: The Crocodial Hunter has died today. He was working on a documentary when a Sting Ray Bard got him through the chest. He leaves behind a wife, a daughter Bindi (
and a Son Robert (3).
Definatly a sad day in the animal world
