I'd say 18-22, maybe 24 max. She looks and sounds more mature than a number of the other princesses. Not much else to add. |

My Google skills are failing me today. All I could find out was the age range you could be to play Belle in the musical, which is 16 - 27. |

I'd say Belle's maybe 18 or 20. She definitely seems older than Ariel and Jasmine, at least.
Or maybe she just acts more mature, I don't know.
And no, not all the heroines are younger than their boyfriends. Meg is probably older than Hercules. |

Hehe! Same for me here.
Belle may be older than the Prince? It seems out of cartoon/fairytale tradition that makes ladies necessarily younger than their boyfriends. |

She is definitely older than Ariel or Jasmine: old enough to have a more developed 'world view' and old enough that part of her oddness is that she's getting dangerously close to being thought of as an 'old maid.'
Disney historian Jim Korkis said that in his research, which I believe included interviews with those involved with the creation of the film/character, he discovered that Belle was considered to be anywhere in the 18-22 range, but the crew never settled on a definite age.
Says a lot about times having changed, don't you think? I am 22 (much closer to 23 than 22 now, actually) and can't fathom settling down right now! If being 22 and unmarried was pushing old maid territory, how weird would they think me if they were to learn I couldn't even imagine that possibility for another few years at the least?! |

From what I understand she was the oldest or at least the most matuture of all the heroines Mark Henn animated. 19 or 20ish like the others said is my best guess. |

I say 20ish, but I don't know
I think the only ones that are 16 are Jasmine, Ariel and Aurora. I believe Snow White is 13, and I think Cinderella is around the 18-20 range along with Belle. |

The prince is definitely at 21. So, 19 could fit...
(i'm not good at guessing the age by appearence) |

I remember way back when the movie first came out that someone told me she was 19. But I have no idea where that came from or if it's reliable. I don't remember any mention of her age on the DVD... |

(though the question, to my mind, should be "how *young* is she?", for she is not old at all . English is a weird language sometimes...)
I've just re-seen the BatB (what a movie! I cried at the end ). Jasmine in the first movie was 16 (as far as I know), Ariel was 16. Is this age typical for all Disney heroines? |
