At least in Pocahontas they semi-explained that it was magic. Or at least The Power of Love™.
That's why he started tugging on Jafar's beard when he first went to the palace, he was wondering if he could steal it.

I always thought that Tarzan was naturally hairless. I know it's impossible to not be hairy at all, especially for guys but there are some dudes who have trouble growing a beard. Johnny Depp has claimed he can't grow facial hair except for that little mustache and I know my brother doesn't grow facial hair except for a little mustache sometimes and he's in his 20s.
That was actually my theory for Aladdin as well, because, according to the rest of the books of the Arabian Nights, someone that old who hadn't grown a beard would have gotten some comments.

You mean, Tarzan's name was Clayton? I guess I absolutely need to read the book...

If you didn't mention your brother I wouldn't give much credence to Johnny. It's so odd...

I'm reminded of that rumor that Dracula star Bela Lugosi couldn't speak English all that well while he was filming and said all his lines phonetically.
Lugosi knew English as well as he ever knew it during the filming of
Dracula
, so... yeah. Just setting the record straight.
...that's why I said rumor; never claimed it was true cause I knew that

I'm not sure, but I think a few guys are virtually hairless on their chest and back without having to shave or wax but they usually at least have hair on their legs and arms.
Seems like it sometimes. Quite odd. Really, there's something very strange about a man who has less hair on his stomach than I do. Disturbing, even.

Movie, nuffin'. Tarzan's been that way since his first appearance in 1912. You can probably blame that general ridiculosity there on the "noble savage" illusion people were so fascinated with during the time.

That's something of a carryover from the original novels. Burrough wrote him to a very quick learner and a good mimic, so Tarzan did mimic sounds around him. I read the book once, and I had fun with the fact he learned French first, then English.

Jane put him through some pretty intensive training over those few days. Then again, Pocahontas learned English pretty fast, too. I think everyone needs in on this program

As to the language issue, my guess is that as a baby he had already started to learn some English (even if he couldn't speak it yet) and that that helped him to learn it faster as an adult. Even so he shouldn't have learned it that fast, I don't think.
Maybe his original human name sounded similar to "Tarzan"?

Then again, why doesn't Aladdin have nipples?

Post subject: A 'Tarzan' issue
I watched "Tarzan" recently, and I loved it to the point it's my second favorite Disney movie. And I have a question, or remark to ask/make.
The little Tarzan got upset every time he heard or got hints that he was different from the other gorillas, he wanted badly to be like them, like his "mom". When he came to the teenage period, he should have noticed that one day his face began to cover with hair. So, if he was so eager to resemble his simian congeners, - and here is my question - where is his beard?... Why would he want to shave it?
(I won't even ask, how come that he knew -without anybody around there who could actually set examples for him- how to articulate his mouth and everything inside it, to reproduce English sounds.......and he knew how his name would sound in human language......-while I don't think it's the same in gorillas' language. Or he is a genius.)
(I hope I have made myself clear)
