I'm pretty sure pple were bothered by the chambermaid thing specifically because Tiana is black (as opposed to Cinderella), and to some, that harkens back to the days of slavery. Honestly, I can undertsand why pple are worried, but I think Disney is smart enough not to step on any toes. Perhaps an early screening with a test audience to avail any fears is in order. And not to start an argument here, but I've seen pple get offended at other film companies and directors aside from Disney for believing that their movies were culturally insensitive or whatever. Hmm, so Naveen's Middle Eastern. Interesting...
Or neither. People do (or did, at least) speak French in New Orleans, plus French is the official language of several African countries.

Yeah, according to the complainers. I always thought he was Latin or something or maybe he is French.

I love the new trailer. Its awesome. So people complain about the African American princess and NOW they complain about interacial relationships between the heroine and the white prince. I've seen the previews and heard the prince. Umm he sounds french or latin to me. It was so hilarious, of the riduclous stuff they said. " All the princesses are white since snow white."
Uh? Have they forgotten Jasmine, Esmeralda, Mulan, Pocohontas etc etc.
The prince is white?
That's the darkest shade of "white" I've ever seen. o_0

It would seem to me that promoting interracial relationships is a GOOD thing and the OPPOSITE of racist... But hey whatever.

Interracial? What are they talking about!? John Smith and Pocahontas? Phoebus and Esmeralda, Eric and Ariel ( Idk, mermaid and human)
These people (the complainers) really need to do their research BEFORE making statements. You can't make everyone happy.
I LOVE THE PREVIEW AND SO CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE.

I totally forgot the name of the band that plays at DisneyLand's New Orleans Square. I think its Side Street Strutters. AMAZING especially their christmas album. One of their songs makes me want to say, " IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!"
