You know, I think the story of Snow White is one of my favourites, but I never liked the Disney version too much. I want a copy of the special edition DVD just so I can see the process they went through, because the queen actually visits her three times, not just with the poisoned apple. btw, Salucfan, I love the signature. ~Hikaru
Guess they didn't want to show the Queen strangling her with long ribbon/lace which is fine by me. Haven't seen Snow White in so long but I remember it always felt like a really long movie to me. Anyway, wasn't the second visit with a poisoned comb? I forget but I always found that really strange. I mean the dwarfs take the comb off and then she's alive again.
I read a more recent take on Snow White called "Snow." It's part of the Once Upon a Time series... (Love the series. "The Storyteller's Daughter" by Cameron Dokey, which is basically a retelling of Scheherezade is one of my favorite books of all time and highly recommend it)
And it was reaaallly dark... only one I read that I didn't like. It was also WAY too much of a stretch from the original I think.

1.) One of my books as a kid (which is probably long gone now) said the dwarfs just went back to doing what they normally did before Snow White came, mining. But, Snow White visits them occasionally and named her children after them as gratitude for them taking care of her.
That children's book that you read... I think i had it. Snow White came to visit them for Christmas or something like that?

4.) In my old book the queen had him executed for his treachery and in an old tape (from a very funny cartoon series) the huntsman ran away before she found out. 'Course, when she did find out she planned to burn down his house and take his money
And I'd like to think, since it's Disney
, the huntsman escaped or the queen was to enraged to think about it and he was later rewarded

I remember Snow White in a series called Grimm's Classic Fairy Tales with the strangling part. That version of Snow White was my favourite, actually.
In another version, if I remember correctly, the dwarves threw the comb into the fire before Snow White woke up.

I can just imagine some beautiful maiden dreaming about the fair Prince Dopey.

I was in class today and not paying attention but rather musing on some of the holes left untold in the story of Snow White.
Cuz I'm a dork.
But then again, aren't we all? That's why we're here?
1. The classic question: what happened with the dwarfs in the end?
2. What did the dwarfs do with all the mining? And why don't they live in a huge house if all 7 of them are getting paid and/or have a bunch of gems?
3. Snow White's kingdom? The queen died, and Snow White rode off with the prince. Who ruled her kingdom?
4. What happened to the huntsman who deceived the queen?
There may have been others... But these are the ones I recalled.
Interesting! Thought I'd have a go:
1.) One of my books as a kid (which is probably long gone now) said the dwarfs just went back to doing what they normally did before Snow White came, mining. But, Snow White visits them occasionally and named her children after them as gratitude for them taking care of her.
2.) From what I've gathered dwarves just love to mine and work the earth. Then again, mythology also states they became wealthy because of this and were on par with the elves in the way their cities were built.
3.) Good question. I don't have an answer to that and would very much like to know now that you mentioned it.
4.) In my old book the queen had him executed for his treachery and in an old tape (from a very funny cartoon series) the huntsman ran away before she found out. 'Course, when she did find out she planned to burn down his house and take his money.
