Disney is clearly trying to build a more consistent canon to compete with all the newer fandoms that are born with these recent films, but it's entirely too large to mobilize 100+ years of material when each movie has its own fandom and set of information. I get the feeling the Maleficent movie is going to be a supplementary canon to Sleeping Beauty if you want it to be. <br /> <br />The Disney Princess line is so gross. Just so we can go on believing that the upcoming movie is just an alternate version of the story, and not necessarily canon. I really don't want the two worlds mixing because it changes the "reality" of the fandom/whathaveyou. Plus, Elle Fanning doesn't look or sound anything like Mary Costa. <br /> <br />I mean, even all the princesses posing in one big poster together makes me uncomfortable.
