Not sure if there's video online yet, but on Nightline on ABC tonight they interviewed Eric Goldberg, John Musker, and Ron Clements about his role in the making of Aladdin and it was very touching.

Done. I don't think I have the power to make it an official announcement, if you'd like it to be.

Also, the Broadway musical's Facebook page posted a better view of JMI/the cast's tribute, if anybody hasn't seen it yet.

The night before that day, I was still listening to Friend Like Me.
And now, I can't listen to this song anymore......

Great Eric Goldberg interview
here
about his time animating Genie.
Also, have yet another view of the Aladdin Broadway Cast tribute to Robin, this one being officially filmed and quite fantastic:

I was just coming to post that. I think JMI did Robin proud last night, it can't have been easy for any of the cast last night.

A beautiful, but upbeat tribute. And a tearjerker!

I love this. James Monroe Iglehart is just amazing in so much that he does. And it was perfect of how he did not want it to drag on too much. Kudos to him for sure. It was great.

oh my god I don't know if I can click on that. I've been purposely dodging that song and that sounds like it's going to rip my heart out. i'm just now putting it back in a little

Here's a couple more rememberances from Aladdin cast and crew. I feel like keeping as many of these as possible in one place is important, somehow.
Lea Salonga:
Quote:
I never got to meet him in person to tell him how much I loved his body of work, as his sessions on “Aladdin” had already ended by the time mine would just begin (as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine), but the privilege of saying I was in a movie with Robin Williams will forever be a highlight of my life.
To the Genie then I say, I love you for making me laugh and cry. I bid you farewell with a very heavy heart. Your wish to be free has finally come true.
John Musker and Ron Clements:
Quote:
“We had the thrill and privilege of directing Robin Williams in Aladdin. We wrote the part with him in mind, but his performance, complete with his brilliant, improvised flights of fancy, took us and the character far beyond what we had imagined. Robin’s genie defied space, time, and physics, and so did Robin’s talent. Like the genie it was immeasurable, thrilling, a cosmic explosion of wit and warmth. Robin brought magic into our lives, to his animator/other half, Eric Goldberg, and to the scores of artists who brought the genie to such vivid life on the screen. But, most of all, Robin’s magic touched millions of viewers who laughed and were moved by him. We will cherish the memory of this ever-giving man who made every life he touched, including our own, better.”

I love that tape
He was just so random funny and even Aladdin aside his comedic style was really something else. He's such a legend.
