But those were only seven. The fat one, the three triplets, the Chinese one, the one with the robe, and the one with the swords. But that's a good point. Maybe Saluk was thinking along those lines, apart from wanting to get back at Cassim.

Rasoul didn't get all of them. Several others evaded capture - these were the ones you see during the In or Out song sequence.
Perhaps Saluk figured that anybody good enough to still be in the group would be good enough to avoid capture. (Naturally, the King would be one of the first to go, as he'd be leading the group or something like that.)

I'm just surprised that Rasoul didn't leave with all the thieves. I imagined he wanted the whole group.

Lord, this has plagued me.
Well, who's to say that he was expecting any to survive the raid in the first place? He could have very well intended for all of them to be taken and re-start the group from scratch. Or, he might have just betrayed them in a 'if I'm not in, no one will be' thing (which I don't believe at all, but whatever), and realized when there were thieves missing in the dungeon, he could go back for them. It's pretty obvious that he only betrayed the group to get at Cassim, so might not have thought the whole thing through.

Hehe, it's 38. Aladdin took Sa'luk's place, but when Cassim and Aladdin left, there was 38 there.

Post subject: There is no one left.
What if when Rasoul raided the lair, he got all forty, I mean, thirty eight thieves, or no thirty seven, well, all the ones that were left. Do you suppose Saluk would have restarted the group, or something? With new thieves?
