Post subject: Show Your Support for Aladdin: The New Stage Musical
The reviews for
Aladdin: The New Stage Musical
came out last week. They were generally good but most agreed there was room for some improvements.
Constructive criticisim isn't a bad thing, but some reviewers just seemed to miss the point (check out the discussion here;
http://aladdincentral.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4495
)
Reviews are very important to this show as Disney are currently only planning to license it out to regional groups and not take it to Broadway. There were some hints during production that Broadway could happen if the show did well in Seattle. Audience reaction has been amazing but the mixed reviews could jeopardise
Aladdin's
shot at Broadway.
We the fans need to (politely and constructively) let Disney and 5th Avenue know how much we support the show and would support it if it came to Broadway or went on a National Tour. If you've seen it let them know you love it (offer constructive criticism if you have any), if you've not let them know your support and why you disagree with the criticisms in the reviews.
Here are the addresses for Disney and 5th Avenue;
David Armstrong
Artistic Director/Executive Producer
5th Avenue Theatre
1308 5th Avenue

Thomas Schumacher
Disney Theatrical Group
