Quote:
High Adventure Reprise
I've got a kinda funny feeling
There's double-dealing in the air
There's something strange and unappealing
Be on your toes, be smart, beware
There goes the groom, melting down, from the stress
There goes the bride, what a gal, don't digress
It's clear
The wedding's near
A wedding's fun but what's in store is more than Al has bargained for
What's up with this wedding?
Although the atmosphere is pleasing
The tension shows no sign of easing
(Omar, stop squeezing)
It's a truly freaky wedding
When there's a crowd that needs appeasing
There's so much drama up for seizing
And that's the reason we're reprising
Quote:
Somebody's Got Your Back Reprise
Look at me, I'm history
Better yet, I'm mythology
All because somebody had my
Cue the applause -- somebody had my
All because somebody had my back! (I'm free!)
Quote:
Arabian Nights Reprise 3
So the Genie was Al's, and they'd soon be good pals
But Jafar, well, he hadn't a clue (hadn't a clue)
He was hatchin' a plot
Tell me, when is he not?
At the cave, things were happening too...
So we're cutting between, it's another split scene
And it helps keep the pacing tight
Intermission's up soon
Until then watch us croon
It's another Arabian Night
Quote:
Call Me a Princess Reprise
Call me a princess, sad but true
Told what to think, told what to do
When hope is slight and chances few
There might just come a day
When princesses run away
Meesh

Oh yeah, the rest of Aladdin Central (besides the board) hasn't been touched in ~10 years.
Not sure if anybody left has the privileges needed to edit it.
Thanks for these!

Post subject: Lyrics to songs cut from the broadway show?
The lyrics page here on Aladdincentral is quite nice, but it is missing stuff exclusive to the broadway show, and in particular it's missing the stuff that was cut after the preview shows, like the reprises of Arabian Nights (one of which was original to the show), Call Me A Princess,
High Adventure
, and Somebody's Got Your Back.
Sadly, the cut tracks didn't make it to the cast album (I'm kind of surprised they didn't opt to include them as bonus tracks, alongside
the piano+vocal Proud Of Your Boy
and
the Iglehart+Jacobs+Menken medley
that did make it, especially given how amazing
Courtney Reed's Call Me A Princess
is), so no where seems to have lyrics to this stuff.
I've transcribed some of this stuff as best as I can, but there are some parts I'm not sure of; primarily in Arabian Nights and Call Me A Princess. The others, I'm fairly confident in.
I tried emailing Chad Beguelin about this months ago, since he has a contact page on his website, but I've had no response.
Here's what I've got so far, working from the one I'm most sure of the lyrics to, to the one I'm the least sure of:
After the Sultan reprise of Prince Ali, but before Jafar's...
High Adventure reprise

So, with that inbetween, and as mad this might seem [???]
And it helps keep the pacing tight
Intermission's up soon
But 'till then watch us prune
It's another Arabian Night
And directly after Call Me A Princess (later replaced by These Palace Walls)...

Then there's the other Arabian Nights reprises, which are just the original #1 and #2 Howard Ashman wrote (naturally #4 is present too, in Finale Ultimos, and wasn't cut like the others were), there's Why Me (which was only slightly rewritten from the original, and can easily be heard from
this official YouTube video
from a little before the Seattle previews. Sadly the only other videos on that channel relating to Aladdin are, from the same recording,
an honestly really neat version Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim
, and some random Q&A snippets), and there's Call Me A Princess (which was basically exactly the same as the demo we all know).
