Are we talking about the book The Magic Carpet's Secret or something else?

I was wondering how the story would be better. Just writing it the way ti is, like that, following the events of the movie, or mabye doing a shorter story, like, where Carpet would be sort of...meditating, or something. Like, maybe, "that's Al's dad, he's the one who STILL hasn't really taken a liking to me..."when he goes near Cassim.
