I had a friend in high school who was homosexual and while I'm drooling over pictures of Aladdin on my binder he was right there with me doing the same thing  |

Actually, I don't mind being confused. In fact, I really don't like it when people find out I'm a girl... or I says it. xP

Methinks it's the rather flamboyant, aggressive style. It's not written in a bad way - it just tends to lend an aire of masculinity.
Oh, and you also mentioned you were filling the role of Romeo - I think that also gave me the impression you were male. |

Well, it could short for "Alex", "Alexandra", "Alanna", "Alyson", etc.
I've never had the nickname "Al" though. |
