It's not so much about using other ones as much as it is creating ones that don't remind me so much of past ones in some way. They can't seem to get away from that now with their males or females.

What are some good ones they haven't used yet?

I'm actually starting to get tired of all the guys being some derivative of Aladdin, be that in looks or personality. I know he opened the doors and all for the Disney Princes, but can we get a little more variety? Try some other character combinations Laughing

Yeah he reminded me of Naveen too, personality wise. And looks-wise Naveen reminds me of a fusion of Aladdin, Eric, and Prince Phillip XD.

And this was really cute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfo7GVcsJJ4

When I first heard it I realized it totally fit!

I definitely got that too.

Kind of like an English Robin-Hood-esque hybrid of Prince Naveen and Aladdin I feel.

Yeah I love that song, too. I also love "I Have A Dream" so so much, and the thugs in the Snuggly Duckling.

Speaking of "I See The Light" and Aladdin and stuff, my best friend and I decided which Disney Princesses we are (Yeah, like we're seven, or something) and she got both Jasmine and Rapunzel, which is fine--I got Giselle and Ariel, but she got all the cool duets because of it. Laughing

XD Yeah that's also what made me think of him. When I heard "I See the Light" for the first time I was thinking that the song could work for Al and Jas's relationship too. I was really hoping it'd win the Oscar Sad. I loved Toy Story 3, but IStL really stuck with me more than the other song.

You have a point there. Plus he marries a princess, eventually.

Probably me putting too much thought into this, but I didn't mean the whole overly cocky aspect, but when he started talking about how he was an orphan and the Flynnagan Rider thing I sort of got an Aladdin vibe. And it doesn't hurt that he's a thief too. All the trouble he gets into makes me think of Al ^^. Just certain nuances, really.

And this made me laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBwAaJjz2qw&feature=related

The DVD came out on Tuesday and I just rented it yesterday, and I just wanted to say...it was amazing! I didn't have really high expectations but...wow. I didn't even mind the animation, I thought it was really pretty and the whole thing just blew me away! I really hope Disney's making a comeback. I'm totally buying the DVD Very Happy

I loved it! Just got the soundtrack for Christmas too!

I wish Flynn had a little bit more character development. That's my only complaint. I also kind of felt bad for Madam Gothel, but that's not a complaint.

I had mixed feelings when going to see this movie, but after the movie I was really blown away. I felt like it had some of the old Disney magic. My favorite part of the whole movie was the frying pan, it is cracking me up while I am writing this.

Did anybody go and see this? I went and saw it today as a treat to myself after finals.

I have to say, I do love what they did with the story. But then, I always like retellings, subversions, parodies, sattires, renditions--you name it--of the stories I grew up with.

Also, I forgot how much I love seeing Disney movies in the theatre. I felt the same way with Enchanted, but I guess I forgot how awesome it is.

I'm not going to go into detail about specific points I liked yet, because maybe I'm not the only one who wanted to save it for after finals, or decided for another reason to wait on seeing it.

I want the soundtrack, though. And, if they come out with a doll that sings, I want that, too. I've been waiting YEARS for a Rapunzel movie, so I'm understandably psyched right now.

I was also thinking about past Disney Princesses and the differences in time periods and stuff. But that's a conversation we've had here many times.

I'm going to shut up and let someone else talk now. Laughing

Sooo I'm a little late on this, but hey! A trailer! And a funny featurette!

It looks hilarious, and I'm really looking forward to this movie like you wouldn't believe.
