Or they all read that in "Aladdin: The Making of an Animated Film". Whichever. Wink

Jasmine was fifteen for most of the movie, but turned sixteen.

In the scene where Jasmine was introduced, the sultan says, "You must be married to a prince by your sixteenth birthday... You only have three more days!"

I always thought that, too, but then I got the DVDs and checked, and the Sultan really just says "You must be married to a prince by your next birthday..."
An older version of the script said, "you must be married by your sixteenth birthday", but they changed it because they didn't want to imply that that's when people should be married by and because they wanted to make sure we knew she had to marry a prince. They didn't change her age, just decided not to mention it. Wink

Wait...Belle would be sorta older because if you are going on their men, Beast had to get someone to love him by the time the last petal fell on his 21st birthday. 16...21....I just don't see it.

And I could have sworn I heard Pocahontas was like 18 in that movie.

That's right!!! I forgot that the beast was turning 21... whoops. Belle was probably around 18/19.

It never says how old Pocohantas is, but it is mentioned in a few articles she was meant to have the body of an 18 year old. We'll go with 18, because John Smith looks like he's around 20.

[quote="AladdinsGenie"]I always thought Pocahontas, Belle, Mulan, and Cinderella were older, but maybe that's just me. They change their ages from the original.

Kida is the only other one I can think of and she's really, really old Laughing[/quote/]

They would seem older, but Cinderella is a princess... and it's tradition.

Now the rest of them, I kinda guessed. Mainly because of their men... I know that sound feministic, but I kinda like when the girls are younger tan their ment. Plus, I went by what time period they were from, and back then, you were expected to be very mature by the time you were 16. Except for Belle's time, and well... she's "technically" a Disney Princess. And so is Pocohantas. Indians lived maybe into their 30's... and seeing how the real Pocohantas was 12... I say making her 16 was quite a stretch.

Hmm... here's how I see it.

Aurora: 15-16
Cinderella: 16
Snow White: 16
Belle: 16
Ariel: 16
Jasmine: 15-16
Pocahontas: 16
Nala: 1-4
Melody: 11-12

Mulan: 16 **pure stipulation... just sounded good to me**
Esmerelda: 22
Megara: 17 **seeing how Hercules had just turned 18**
Tinkerbelle: ageless **she's a fairy... how the hell would I know?**

I know there's more, but I'm too lazy to think of them right now. This is just my basic thought process of our dear disney heroines.

Maybe... but Tinkerbelle isn't a princess... duh! Rolling Eyes

Lol, just kidding... but I was just talking about the actual princesses. I have a really hard time believing that Esmerelda was a 16 year old.

I said Belle, not Tinker Bell Laughing

Maybe Esmerelda is older? It's Quasimodo 20 something? God, I need to pay more attention Laughing
