AladdinsGenie, perhaps the word you're looking for is "assonance?" I'm not sure if that quite fits, but that might be what you're looking for. |

This is what I've been wondering about. [ALADDIN:] Maybe you're right [JASMINE:] And won't it be great To have your father see our wedding day? Right and day do not rhyme at all. If you think about it, night rhymes with right. Perhaps that was the original lyric but a proofreader found it could imply some tompeeping pervy stuff. Cause everyone knows what happens the wedding night. It would of been better if Disney picked another lyric that sounded like Right instead of just putting Day in there. It makes the song make more sense, but it kills any rhyme scheme they had going on. |
