My guess is they didn't use Genie other than that punch deal because they didn't want to have to deal with the voice issue.

But remember they had two voices for the Genie - Robin Williams and Dan Castella. I think it was a touchy situation, so that was the easy way to handle it. Just my theory.

Well, Genie is the wild card in the voice department. We've got two voice actors that are widely accepted (most of the time). If they would have gotten someone else to be Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu and Jafar-it'd be noticeable.
But I honestly think it would have made no sense to have Genie around because he's got the magical advantage. |

It's Disney Television Animation - if they used Dan for the Aladdin show, they'd use him for the Hercules show, too. At least, I think so. Maybe the script just didn't call for Genie.

Just anyone missed it or whatever, Hercules and the Arabian Night will air again March 22nd. I don't know the exact time yet though. Hercules (The movie) is coming on as well.

Yep- after the composer of the Iliad and the Odyssey.

It's great, especially when you can get all the Greek references and puns like my dad does. Something will totally fly over my head and he'll crack up laughing at it. |
