I think we're going to see Romeo and Juliet next year in English class, too. Some of my friends have already seen it and totally fell in love. But for the play: I find it boring. It isn't funny, it isn't witty, just tragic love. Then we went to see it in theatre, and that performance was so... odd. After that, I like Romeo and Juliet even less.
Hamlet was interesting. It's not my favorite, but it is really good. I still need to see the movie with Mel Gibson that Jas recommended me.
Much Ado About Nothing: Hilarious! I so enjoyed reading it, and then I lent the English video with Keanu Reeves and Dencel Washington from my English teacher, and it totally cracked me up! It's my favorite.
Othello was the first Shakespear I read, and it cracked me up because of how Iago fooled the naive Othello all the time. Of course I decided to read it because the villain's name was Iago, and he lived up to my expactations.
A Midsummer Night's Dream: It was nice, but didn't impress me much.
And then I also read a comedy, but I don't know it's English title. It's about a mean woman that is married to an even meaner guy, and his treatment makes her all submissive and stupid. I don't like this play at all. _________________

Just prepare yourself for that incestuous kiss. *shudders*
I was thinking about why I like Hamlet so much and it occured to me - Hamlet's a ranter. I think I've got some similarities to him that made me really connect to him and be intrigued by him. And I just pretend to be crazy. *raises eyebrows* Or am I really crazy? The ongoing Hamlet debate.
Can you tell me what the name of that play is in English? Just translate it directly and we'll see if we can figure out which one it is. I'm not familiar enough with all of the plays to know which one you're talking about based on the plot line.
This just occured to me - is an appreciation for Shakespeare another one of those freaky Aladdin fan coincidences? It seems like more people here like Shakespeare than do in the "real world". _________________

I don't believe we have more appreciation or fascination than the real world about Shakespeare, I just think we talk about it more. We talk about EVERYTHING on here, Shakespeare might as well have started up sometime.
Shakespeare wrote so many plays that draw us all in. There is no way you can hate ALL of Shakespeare's plays... you may like some more than others, but to each his own.
I think that we share a liking of literature... and so we discuss it more in depth than normal people.... because, we're not normal. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

I've actually have had several Shakespeare conversations on here. I was saying that there seem to be a higher percentage of people on here that like Shakespeare than I experience in my classes. _________________

The play I was talking about is called "The awkward's taming" in German.
And I don't know if it's so special to like Shakespeare, I know a few people who do. _________________

*thinks about the people in her classes* I'm gonna lean towards the moron theory.
Yes, the things from Shakespeare that have infiltrated our culture are very cool. There's a book of just tons of facts about Shakespeare that I would love to have. I can't even remember the name of it, but it was awesome. _________________

Yeah, that could be it.
"vanish into thin air" was coined by Shakespeare. _________________

I think what's most amazing is the fact that we can still find ways to relate to his stories, even though they were written around 150 years ago. It just goes to show that Shakespeare will always be timeless.
When you can make a Shakespeare play in modern times... w/out changing much but a few facts here and there, you know that this writer will never be forgotten. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!
