I've browsed some different Aladdin websites, and some of the ones I go on have mentioned Jafar/Iago having been responsible for the death of the queen of Agrabah. Where are these websites getting this? Am I missing a story or whatever that confirmed this information, or is this simply theory?

I have only seen that mentioned in fanfics, so it sounds like canon/fanon confusion to me. Rolling Eyes

I have to agree with Calluna.. it is more than likely coming from fan fics. That sort of thing happens all of the time. Was there anything stating how Jafar killed her? That would be a good clue.

I don't think it's all coming from just one fic. In some he killed her himself, in others it was an assassin working for him. It's just a popular theory... Confused

So far as I know, that whole idea was just overactive fan imagination. not that that's a bad thing, it just gets confusing when it gets mixed with actual canon. Razz

I was leaning toward that explaination, but I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't missing something big. I'm quite glad, actually. I never liked the idea of them killing her much.

*nod* I never really saw a good reason for him to do so. Although it seems right that he would be involved in some kind of political assasination (in my story I'm writing, he kills the previous vizier).

If he killed her, why would the sultan trust him so much? Well there is the snake staff thing- -but wouldn't SOMEbody know?! Or was Jafar running the whole palace behind the Sultan's back before Jasmine was old enough to do anything about it? Yeah, I guess he was. What do you think?

What's up with the gene pool there? Both Aladdin and Jasmine get their entire look from one attractive parent. Boy, I guess we're lucky that neither of them hit that ugly gene. Wink
