I actually just read a study the other day that said the average age people get married at in the U.S. is 25. |

Wow, I didn't know that.
At my high school, nobody is married. At least none that I know of.
As for Jasmine's age, the supervising animator on the DVD said Jasmine was based on his sister's high school senior picture. Most of the senior's at my school are 18-19, so I guess that how old Jasmine looks.
I never really understood where the number 16 come from anywy. BTW, how do you guys know Aladdin is 17? Is it one of those assumed things? _________________ Must find/create signiture. |

I also heard she is based a little off of Jennifer Connely, as well.
And it's one of things that's not set in stone that he is 17. He mentions in an episode that he's lived on the streets for 17 years. So, either you assume one of two things
1. He lived on the streets since birth (meaning even though his mother was alive for a little bit, he was still living on the streets due to poverty and Cassim leaving) and once he got engaged to Jasmine stopped "living on the streets"
2. Or he lived on the streets for 17 years AFTER the death of his mother and started to live on his own when he was like 3-5. So it would be that age plus 17 years, but that would make him like 20-21 in the series when he said that statement.
I personally like to think he got married at 21 and Jasmine was like 19, but that's just me and my Western brain |

I said Belle, not Tinker Bell
Maybe Esmerelda is older? It's Quasimodo 20 something? God, I need to pay more attention |

Maybe... but Tinkerbelle isn't a princess... duh!
Lol, just kidding... but I was just talking about the actual princesses. I have a really hard time believing that Esmerelda was a 16 year old. |
Umm, Esmerelda isn't a princess either. _________________

I always thought Pocahontas, Belle, Mulan, and Cinderella were older, but maybe that's just me. They change their ages from the original.
Kida is the only other one I can think of and she's really, really old |

They would seem older, but Cinderella is a princess... and it's tradition.
Now the rest of them, I kinda guessed. Mainly because of their men... I know that sound feministic, but I kinda like when the girls are younger tan their ment. Plus, I went by what time period they were from, and back then, you were expected to be very mature by the time you were 16. Except for Belle's time, and well... she's "technically" a Disney Princess. And so is Pocohantas. Indians lived maybe into their 30's... and seeing how the real Pocohantas was 12... I say making her 16 was quite a stretch. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

Wait...Belle would be sorta older because if you are going on their men, Beast had to get someone to love him by the time the last petal fell on his 21st birthday. 16...21....I just don't see it.
And I could have sworn I heard Pocahontas was like 18 in that movie. |
