I heard ROJ was originally gonna be 4 tv episodes but they decided to put them together as a movie instead. Does anyone have any kinda info on this? I'm wondering...if this is true then why is there singing in it? There's no other instances in the tv show where they sing so I'm guessing this isn't true. But then again they could of come up with songs real quick and spliced them in. But this movie don't run very long anyway and would not have run long enough w/out songs for 4 episodes. |

That's probably true.
That would also explain why the TV series aired before RoJ. _________________

ROJ was made to be series eps before it was made into a "movie". As for the songs, it could be quite possible to have them there as sort of a thing a mini-series would have. Either that, or they knew it was the last time they were going to have a song and dance sequence for a while so they decided to soak up the fun |

I'm assuming either the songs were hastilly added, or there were originally going to be songs anyway. Not so strange when you consider that the TLM TV series had songs in a few episodes. |

"You are so right."
I agree that the songs where added later since the series didn't have any. Now that I think about it songs would be nice but unlike TLM and Hercules the Aladdin series didn't lend itself to have songs like you would expect in a Disney series. |

I agree that "Nothing Like a Friend" seems added; look how quickly they cut back to Aladdin talking when it's over. I don't see really how they could do that with "Forget About Love" or "Second Rate", though. They seem pretty integrated into the plot. |

Intriguing. I have to admit, RoJ was hard for me to watch, the whole movie seems very slapped together. But it's not bad altogether, and if it had been TV episodes, it probably would've been really entertaining...but a movie? Eesh.
And don't eeeeeven get me started on those annoying Mermaid songs. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

The Little Mermaid series and movie itself has that song thing built in because that's Ariel's thing. I'm sure if Jasmine was a "singer", there'd be a couple of songs in the series, too. |
