And yes, I agree with you on that other sentiment.
However, I can see Mozenrath acting like this, because in my stories, he is taking advantage of an innoncent child and pedophiles essentially do just that. Albeit, he only got as far as kissing Dhandi, though it was only to get a rise out of her. But this is not love. He only wants her to dominate her.
In "Minotaur", he still harbors this lust, but grudgingly, because he sees it as a weakness because he allowed Dhandi to see what he was when he was Amir in "All of Me" to gain her trust.
Compare to Frollo's obsession for Esmerelda in "HoND".

| I like it.Like you,I ususally shy away from fanfics with too many sexual references,but I think it's fine as long as their in character and you don't get into explicit detail.You've actually got me into this story now.Are you going to post more here,or do you have the rest of it on another site? If you do please put up the link,I wanna read more! |

I don't have a problem with it. That's as far as I would go with a scene like that. No need to give a detailed report, ya know.
But you have to use your own judgement. Are you writing for yourself, or are you writing by someone else's standards? If you don't have a problem with it, that's all that matters, since there will be those who like your work and those who don't.

I don't mind sexual references, even heavy ones, if they serve a purpose in the story and are handled right.
However, what I have a problem with is trying to be too historically correct. I think I saw a fanfic that was about a hashshashin and assassinating Christian pilgrims. Historically correct, yes, but I don't think it has a place in Aladdin fanfiction. I have nothing against Islam, but it just rubs me the wrong way if someone tries to tie the movies/series too closely to real history. If the references serve a purpose, go ahead, I guess. I'd still prefer making the refences serve the story, not the other way around.
Then again, I also think that the movies/series take place in an alternate world where several historical periods can happen at the same time. But this is getting way too off topic, so I'll stop.

Me too, oddly enough. I just feel like the Arabia in the Aladdin movie and the Arabia we know/is really around during that time is two different things. Yeah, they are gonna throw some gags in there or references to places like the Taj Mahal and the pyramids, but overall it's two different settings. They're more like guidelines  |

Haha... want to know the real reasoning behind it all?
TEEN TITANS fanfiction came next. I got hooked with Rob/Rae fandoms and that's what pushed me away from ALADDIN.
Then came Blood and Chocolate, which is where I'm at now. However, I recently got a job and a boyfriend, and they sorta dominate my time. One of these days (probably in the summer) I'm finishing all unfinished fanfiction and becoming more involved in creative hobbies.

well, hmmm, sex in fanfics, as long as it's done classily and not trashily, i mean that just wouldn't be right, but remember also, coz it's fanfics it is also the author's personal interpretation of the story.
but i don't know if anyone has noticed, but there are moments in the aladdin movies where very subtly they slip in a line, like when genie says "None for you, you're the designated flier!" to carpet in KoT, the sorts of things implied, kids don't understand about drinking driving...er, flying! same goes for how aladdin kissed jasmine at the end of KoT!
so yeah, it really depends on what is said and done and more importantly HOW it's done. does anyone get me? coz sometimes i don't! lol! |

You know, it's funny I didn't get that line until I was older and understood what it meant, but I guess with today's society they are catching on rather fast. |
