This is a thread I've been wanting to start for a long, long time. Before I even knew I wanted to start it, really.
Ahem.
Anybody (characters, actors, historical figures) you can think of who would make/play good genies? Any special color you'd think they'd look good in?
And by the way, I'm going to READ YOUR MIND! You are thinking...
Johnny Depp
Orlando Bloom
Brad Pitt
Am I right? Am I right?! 
Here's my first...
David Deluise (Pete, Stargate SG-1)
Color: Sunny yellow!
-He's cute as a bug.
-If he looks half as good in an earring as big brother Peter, well...
-He's a Deluise. Deluises are inheirantly funny.
Ciff Simon (Baal, Stargate SG-1)
Color: Red
-That facial hair gives him the perfect look.
-He makes my little heart go pitter-pat.
-He sounds good in a flange... wait, who doesn't?

What is it with the fandom combining POTC and Aladdin?
Um, John Leguizamo played a really good duel role as the two genies in the made for TV movie The Arabian Nights. |

Actually, it has nothing to do with POTC. It has to do with the fact that 95% of all females on the Internet are busily drooling over these three actors.
I haven't seen Stargate Atlantis... yet. But my family has every season of Stargate SG-1 available on DVD. I imagine we'll eventually have to get SGA, too. 
Two words for you Stargate fans:
"Jafar! Kree!"

Season 1 comes out on dvd in November in the US. I actually got hooked with SGA and haven't seen SG1 yet. If you're interested, I'll see if I can get you a clip to enjoy.
And sorry for sending your thread off topic - I just got a little excited.

Someone on IMDB awhile ago made a thread about who they would want to play the characters if there were a live action version, and they had Orlando Bloom as Aladdin.  That's wrong on so many levels... |

The animator of Genie would make a good Genie... gah, the name escapes me at the moment... I'm in school, that's the reason!

Oded Fehr.
I wouldn't mind having him coming out of a lamp and I modeled a character after him who is turned into a genie/demon. He had green skin, violet eye shadow ala Malificent from "Sleeping Beauty", and these horns protruding from his cheekbones like a warthog. I'll show you a pic when get to it.

Orlando Bloom as Aladdin... *Clutches throat* Nuh-uh! I'd sooner shoot the entire thing in India with an Indian cast (they'd look right!) than cast Orlando Bloom! Gaaack! I mean, Orlando Bloom's cute and all, but he'd make a terrible Aladdin.
