Every now and then, I seem to be getting an error message. "phpbb Critical error - could not connect to database." _________________

What are you trying to do when it happens? _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Yeah, connecting was kinda fuzzy today, but I went to a different computer lab and it works just fine, so maybe it was just that computer. |

No, it's not just you, AG - I've had a few problems connecting today.
When I got that error message . . . I don't remember what I was trying to do - just clicking around the forum. _________________

Hmm, probably something going on with the webhost, then. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

I'd imagine so. That's the error message over at GateWorld's forums when the server goes down. So, these threads that say "no posts exist for topic" are gone for good? That's a shame. I'm new and there are so many interesting threads that I never saw, such as "Deities", "Hmm, what happened to the villains?", "KOT original plot", "I have found Mozenrath's father" and "Does 'Aladdin' have a technobabbler?" among other things. Makes me sad to see so many posts gone. |

That is a good question because I know a few of the threads that are over a few pages long no longer work. |

I know I've been mourning the loss of some of the threads where funny things happened. _________________

Ah, the technobabbler thread isn't much to mourn. I was just asking if anyone in the Aladdinverse was actually qualified to technobabble, or if I was going to have to make a new character to do it. _________________

Even if it was just that, it would have been interesting to take a look. Besides, it carried on for three pages so something amusing must have happened.
Why did you need a technobabbler, by the way? Who did you use, or did you create your own character? |

You can bet about two pages of it were SGA-related babble.
I needed a technobabbler to technobabble, of course! Ah, I'll just show you an excerpt...

Zarah dropped from Farid's back. "Time dilation device. Yeah, you'd better shut it down. I was just about to mention it."
"Oh, why bother?" Farid grumbled.
"Because it might do bad things. Very bad things. Who knows."
"Bad things?"
"Here, let me show you what I mean. See, here's a round napkin, right? Now, this napkin is rotating around in a happy little circle, sorta like our own planet. Now, let's say the inside of the napkin starts spinning faster than the outside... see what happens? The middle bunches up. And it takes more with it eventually."
"I'm not sure I understood all that..." Aladdin began. |

And yeah, I ended up creating my own character. _________________
