It really surprised me as well. I thought it might be that they were getting all the original prints as it's more of an "artsy" cinema so they could justify it by saying it was the original version, but they're using the new 3D print of TLK so that's not the case.
Cast;
Adam - TLK
Courtney - currently auditioning
James - Memphis
Jonathan - Mary Poppins
Andrew - Newsies
Brian - not sure
Sean, Brandon and Don are all Seattle regulars so I'd expect to see them doing some work there very soon (probably already!)
Oh, and you might be rewarded to consider this

Fantastic interview!
That's awesome that they showed that version of the movie... they'd probably be able to show that one here; someone would probably complain but then they'd be ignored and it would be continued to show.
Kind of reminds me of the movie Four Lions in a way, that it's able to be released in the UK and Australia without a blink of an eye but much harder to release in the US. |

Thanks for all the comments everyone!
I've just posted the interview with Sean (such a nice guy!);
http://aladdinmusical.blogspot.com/2011/09/all-your-years-of-loyal-service.html
I did think (briefly) about editing the interview to put in caps, but I felt it lost something when I changed it, so I left it as it was.
I don't think I'll get anymore back before we go on honeymoon now (1 week today!! Disney World here we come!! Gonna get a hat like Genie's.... not sure about the shirt though!) but when we get back I'll do my best to chase up the remaining interviews. |

Aw, now I wanna see his paintings . I can see him as King Lear, though, that's a good role. |

Thanks everyone!
And yeah, I'd have loved to have seen Sean in King Lear and in A Christmas Carol (always love that story!).
All packed now, ready for the flight tomorrow!! I wanted my letters done before I went but now I think I'm gonna write them on the plane as I've been crazy busy lately (even printed out my review analysis and the addresses to take with me).
Front page news is excellent!! Not booked plane tickets just yet, there's two productions so it'll come down to flight costs (if we can save that much between WDW and next summer...) unless casting or production images sway me towards a particular production. Might have to contact Tuacahn when I get back! I'll keep you all posted if I do. |

Didn't think I'd be posting to update the Seattle thread anytime soon!
Nothing major, but Stage Rush have done a short video interview with Adam Jacobs about Aladdin which can be seen here;
http://www.lincolncenter.org/show_events_list.asp?eventcode=33394
Also (very short notice this) Adam is taking part TONIGHT in PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim at the Alice Tully Hall on Broadway. This is a benefit concert with all proceeds going to the Philippine Development Foundation, but it's extra special for Aladdin fans as another of the performers is none other that Lea Salonga! No idea if they'll be performing together but it'll be worth searching youtube tomorrow!
Oh and one last thing from Adam's site;
Looks like another "unreleased" promo picture like the one from the Jafar interview a while back. |

She just looked - tickets are sold out. Videos are our only hope.
Might I just add if the two of them sing together, I'll die |

The judges will also accept this answer
I think I need to make an Aladdin cast thread to keep up with everyone. |

A new version of “The Little Mermaid” is being reworked by playwright Doug Wright and is set to open in Holland, and a stage adaptation of “Aladdin” is on its way to Europe once it clears another round of development.
You might not have to make a trip over here again after all |

I know I've been really busy with work this month (flu season, people are dropping like flies!) but HOW DID I MISS THIS?!?!?!?!
Where did that come from? I knew about Mermaid, but this is like the most amazing news since the show finished in Seattle!
It's just a question of "where" in Europe. Beauty and the Beast hasn't toured the UK for the last few years so I can see it replacing that, but there's also been pretty consistent rumors that Lion King may close in the West End "at some point" after the Olymics and most people assumed the re-worked Mermaid was being considered to replace it but Aladdin would be even better! But then Tarzan never made it to the UK so if they're going to open on the continent I'll go for a US regional production so I can understand it!
Now I've got all that off my chest, that picture is awesome and I completely agree about a thread being needed to keep up with the cast! It's so hard to keep track of everyone! Newsies is going to Broadway next year so I'm guessing AKB will be opening that (not confirmed but very likely)
I'm guessing the if the regional and European versions do well then we could see a Broadway opening, but 2013 is probably the earliest that could happen (after they assess the regionals, probably later if they wait until after Europe). |
