Basically tonight is the gala fundraiser premiere of Aladdin at Tuacahn following a week of previews. Tickets tonight were apparently $250 including dinner, an auction and the premiere of Aladdin, held to help raise funds to expand the theatre which, like 5th Avenue, is a not for profit organisation and relies on donations.

New "poster" versions of the Aladdin/Jasmine and Genie images from the above banner have been released (higher quality too) and an all new image of Jafar. No production shots yet, I'm hoping they'll come with reviews tomorrow but given the very short preview period it may be a bit longer yet.

I'm JUST NOW realizing they made Genie blue. I kind of liked that he wasn't before, but this is cool, too.

Guh, these costumes are gorgeous, though.

Teaser is awesome. Some of the special effects were done specially for the advert so it won't be exactly the same on stage but I'm sure it'll look fantastic, so happy to hear an imagineer worked on it!

Just got our gate number! Time to board the plane, next stop Aladdin!!!

How did Aladdin's little satchel work out? And were the gang saying pop culture references?

It worked out fine actually. It seemed strange when I first saw it but then I forgot all about it.

The Trio did use modern stuff and quite a few references to Tuacahn, like playing "Go Fish" and referencing last year's production of TLM, but all of the real pop culture mentions were saved for Genie who even called Jafar Lady Gaga at one point (which actually worked quite well).

Will say that I totally loved Aladdin's reprise of Proud of Your Boy at the end of Act 1, it was so beautiful and Dan just nailed it. And I don't know if it's even possible on a standard Broadway stage, but this is how AWNW needs to be done, just fantastic to see.
