Well, I personally had some kind of subconscious notion that the gauntlet had something to do with the creation of mamluks. Still, I rather think it doesn't, because if it did, I think he would've tried to mamlukify Aladdin or someone long ago.
This logic leads me to believe that the process of creating mamluks isn't the simplest procedure in the world. It may not be especially hard, but it's probably a little more involved than, say, "push the button."
