Well, now that ya bring it up, I'm sure Disney influenced the direction of a few of my own shopping dollars... lemme take a look around...
-A few assorted glass... er, bottle-type things kept for their... aesthetic value. At least two look Arabianish.
-One brass Arabian lamp-shaped incense burner sans lid. (I don't actually burn incense in it; I use a piece of wood I put a hole in. Keeps the ash where I want it.)
-Assorted Mulan fast-food toys I happened to find.
-One recreation of a Civil War sabre. (Blame it on PotC. Yes, I know the Civil War was a good distance away from TGAoP by a decent amount of time and space, but... hey, it's still a spiff-looking sabre.)
-An Arabian-style knife.
-Mechanical pencils with characters from Winnie the Pooh on them. _________________

Watching the movies growing up (and even now) has helped me retain some "childishness" that I love. Plus, I love children, and the movies are something you can discuss with them and see them light up about - I love asking my Cubbies about their favorite Disney movie / character. I also have many wonderful memories of family vacations at WDW. I'm sure we would have had fun at other travel locations, but we love WDW. And if it wasn't for Disney, I likely wouldn't have met my best fried. So yes, Disney has (and always will) have a part of my life. _________________

Without Disney I don't think I would ever have dreams of becoming a full time animator or voice actress. It also showed me how beautiful music can be. My life would also be rather boring though if Disney never existed. |

You wanted to be an animator? Cool.
I want to have some of my own stories done in animation (2-D). _________________

For a while I studied up on animation and its history (mostly Disney and WB). Realized it wasn't quite my cup of tea, but I find a number of techniques applicable to art and comics. So it influences my art style in various ways.
And I still harbor the dream that I'll write a story or screenplay that could be used for an animated film, preferrably 2D. I remember attempting to write one when I was in my early teens. |
