People know better than to tell me stuff like that. I'm not a stable person as it is |

I have two friends who hate Aladdin.
Actuallly they are extreme TLK fans and completely hate other Disney movies without providing a reason. (One of them wore a "Finding Nemo sucks, TLK was better" shirt to see Finding Nemo for the first time).
Luckily, they aren't the general opinion. Many of my classmates like aladdin (though they aren't fanatics). _________________ Must find/create signiture. |

I should try to see how many times I can use that in normal conversation in one day. _________________ I don't need intelligent drugs, because I don't know what they are. But I will put anything into my mouth that is given to me, whether it's supposed to go there or not. Because... I'm different. |

Heh, I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who's noticed this. TLK fans seem that way in general for some reason... |

I guess I'm the exception. TLK is still good though. What really riuned TLK for me was TLK 1 and 1/2 (god, the horror). _________________ Must find/create signiture. |

It's more like, "our movie made more money than yours, therefore we are superior". I've never seen, say, BatB fans bragging about their Oscar nomination. I guess it's more of a fandom-culture thing. TLM fans seem fiercly protective of Ariel. I don't know what stereotypes there are of Aladdin fans. |

Well, TLK did win 2 oscars and get nominated for two more.
As for most money making, technically, its untrue. Finding Nemo beat the TLK sales, but it was made by Pixar.
As for "pure" disney films, it did make the most.
Whoa, my TLK personality will sometimes come out, be prepared... _________________ Must find/create signiture. |

We are twisted underdogs who are not prizes to be won and don't like being told what to do

That was a golden glode nomination, not an oscar.

Try Iago.
I'm sorry, but I love BatB, it's my fave, and Aladdin, it's very close second, but I never did like the Lion King. Know why? Three things: Basic plot was cliched, I'm sorry, it was, and the other two's names are Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. Pleah! Terrible acting, if not just annoying.
And Fourthly, it was too dramatic for what it was. I can compliment a couple things though. Music and FX. But other than that, I was not impressed. The supporting characters I usually go for, Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa, and those stupid Mexican hyenas, were not fun or charming. They were boring, annoying, just okay, and grungy respectably.
*awaits flame bucket*
Um...that IS just IMHO! _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

Hey now, I liked Timon. Disney needs more smartasses in their resume.
I like the Lion King, but I didn't connect with it. I can relate and see more things of my life in Aladdin than anything else. My mom loves TLK because she can't watch Mufasa's death scene due to the fact that it reminds her of her father's death. He was ran over by a drunk driver, so it hits too close to home; especially since she was about 4 or 5 when it happened.
But I agree, music and animation were beautiful. |
