I'm assuming you guys watched the Great Mouse Detective? Doesn't Dr.Dawson (The cute, chubby, grandfatherly, english mouse) remind you of Sultan? Shocked

They act and sound just alike! (except Dr.Dawson is a little on the smarter side Laughing

) And they both say the line "What's troubling you my dear?" the same exact way! Shocked

Do you think it's the same guy doing the voice? Or maybe I've watched too much Aladdin. Laughing

I watched Great Mouse Detective for the first time in YEARS today and I don't remember Basil being so mean and arrogant. Confused

I always thought he was so funny, clever and heroic. Sad

Kinda like Aladdin.

They are actually Laughing

But it's Sultan's second voice Val Bettin, not the first one Douglas Seale.

Yes they do resemble each other now that I think of it. Same animators maybe? Also I noticed Maurice and the Sultan look every alike. For the same reasons Dr. Dawson and Sultan look alike. Put Sultan's robe and hat on Maurice and tada Sultan's twin brother.

I haven't watched The Great Mouse Detective and Beauty and the Beast in years. But let's see...I can probably remember the way the characters sounded. And I think you're right. I don't think Maurice would look like the Sultan's twin brother, though. And I love Basil.

It's basic Aladdin knowledge people. Know the main characters names from Menken and Ashman's 3 top movies namely The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. (Don't worry I don't expect Aladdin fans to know King Triton's daughters names from The Little Mermaid) Very Happy

But yes I was talking about Belle's father Maurice from Beauty and the Beast.
