Do you think that Rasoul knew Saluk was one of the forty thieves? Or one of the other guards recognized him, when he went to the Palace, to see if they'd gotten Cassim? It seems odd to me that no one noticed. And how he knew where to find him, and he turned out to be right. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Yeah, that's another one of KoT's big plotholes.
I can understand Rasoul not recognizing Sa'luk, but I think it's highly unlikely that Hakim and Fazal wouldn't recognize him, since they were the ones who were actually fighting him (for a little while, anyway ) at the wedding. Maybe Sa'luk thought it was safe to reveal his identity after the rest of the thieves had been captured, and by that point Rasoul didn't care because he'd proven that he was on their side?
I'm not sure what you mean that they "knew where to get him". Where Cassim was, you mean? After Sa'luk told them that the King of Thieves was Aladdin's father, they already knew that Aladdin's father was in Agrabah, and it would make sense that he would go for the Oracle again while he was in the palace.
(Of course, that's probably what happened, but what I actually wrote in the guards-centric KoT fic I need to rewrite was that they didn't recognize Sa'luk so that I could make a joke out of it and they knew where Cassim would be because the Oracle told Hakim. ) |

Or rather, because they were undressed by him. And how would they know that it was the same Aladdin? Or is Aladdin the only Aladdin? _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. Perhaps you are right in thinking of me as an alien. As soon as Sa'luk said that Aladdin's father was the King of Thieves it cut to a new scene, so for all we know after that the guards were like, "Wait, are we talking about the same Aladdin? Short guy, poofy hair, has a magic carpet and a monkey?" |

Rasoul would probably have been delighted at the excuse to stop the wedding. He just never seemed fond of Aladdin at all, despite that he was going to marry Jasmine and everything. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. He's just not a happy camper a criminal he was after for a while suddenly gets top dolla treatment because he saved the world. The things you have to do to impress people
As far as the question, I think even if he did know (which I sorta think he didn't at that point), he would have let it slide just as long as he knew he could catch the others. Kind of a "Ok, I won't arrest you and I'll forget anything you did as long as you tell me where the others are" thing.
That's why I've always wondered what Sa'luk told Rasoul before they met in the alley. It must have been "Meet me at such and such place alone for information on catching the forty thieves" because Sa'luk knew the other guards had already seen him and that might have effected Rasoul's trust in him trying the password because he might think it's a trick to capture all the guards and then take over Agrabah or...something.
Damn, plot holes |

In that Sa'luk-KoT fic that I will write *someday* ( ), I just made it that Sa'luk told one of the guards watching the city gates, since I figure there's gotta be *someone* out there. That guard gets Rasoul, Rasoul goes for it, considering that he's be dying to get the Forty Thieves...and the story continues.
I definetly think Rasoul was suspicious by Sa'luk's knowledge of the code, but I don't think he would have recognized him. Rasoul seemed to be fighting anyone he could find in the wedding, and he might not have noticed him and/or focused on him when he ran after the other thief.
As for Hakim and Fazal.... I don't know how to explain that one. Then again, we don't see a reaction shot to Sa'luk initially appearing to identify the thieves; we just see him coming out. Hakim and Fazal could have very well reacted and Rasoul either blew it off or let it go, because the information was good and Sa'luk did return to identify the King. Besides, even if Rasoul was aware, I doubt he was worried about Sa'luk restarting the group or anything, as he seemed pretty caught up in the moment. _________________ "This cow's been covered with flour!" |

I just figured the guards weren't on top of their um, memory, when they saw him again. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

Do you think that plotholes are scenes that are cut from the original idea?
For example: Aladdin got cut on the arm during the fight scene with Sa'luk and his arm is totally bleeding. ( It was shown in a preview for the Kot).
Then when it was released, the bleeding arm disappeared.
To me, they should've left it because it was more actual. If someone cut you in the arm then you have to bleed especially that deep of a cut. |

This was probably BEFORE the movie was given a rating. In order to opt for "G," they probably cut out the blood, but then decided not to submit it at all, after the fact. That happens a lot. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

1. I must add that would have been hot to leave that there, but I'm a little sick in the head
2. I wonder if someone decided to have the animators get rid of that after seeing it during a pre-screening or something because they figured blood would have been too much, even for a DTV sequel. I guess by that time they were already making trailers because one of Genie's lines that is in the trailer isn't in the film either.
And it's not like there's too many Disney movies with blood. The only one coming to mind is Tarzan. |

It never occured to me that it could be possible that Rasoul could arrest Saluk after he got the other thieves. I wonder if Rasoul did think about it. They both seem to have a lot in common. I guess he must have just sent him a note, or something, telling him to come alone. I always thought that he wanted to speak to Rasoul because he was the head guard. I never thought because he remembered Fazal and Hakim.

It shows proof that no hero could go invincable. except for superman and jesus. Aladdin is more human. then again the disappearing wound.
