|
|
The other day I was at someone's house and somebody put on Lady & The Tramp II. Besides being incredibly stupid, the film had an underlying squick tone.
Now, the original film ended at Christmas, and this one picks up at Independence Day. This would indicate that if Scamp is one of the puppies from the first film, he is no younger than six months old. However, his size indicates that he is no older than three months.
But no matter how you look at it, Scamp is not an adult dog.
During the course of the film, Scamp ends up wooing a dog who is his size, although her age is not explicitly given. This dog, in turn, is the unwilling recipient of the affections of a dog who is undeniably a full-grown adult.
So I see two possibilities here:
1. Scamp is a minor wooing an adult.
2. Scamp's new girlfriend is a minor suffering sexual harassment from an adult. _________________

So I see I wasn't the only one who caught that (what about that female dog who was a part of the junkyard pack who started hitting on Scamp?). I know the chars are just animals, but I think what makes it so creepy is that they're talking animals who almost feel like fuzzy pple.
But yeah, L&TT2 makes me cry with it's crappyness. |

I never liked Angel at all, however, what made me mad about that film was they messed up my favorite character. That was NOT Tramp! He changed so much, in so little time? And Trusty and Jock? Especially Jock, I like his voice in the first film. He didn't sound the same.:(No, but I was very upset about what happened to Tramp. And how'd they end up naming him Tramp, as well? Did he tell Jim Dear and Darling his name or something? _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. His father is Tramp.
I'm not surprised |

That's the only good part about the movie. Tramp and Scamp are so alike.lol
Wonder what Al's boys will be like. His daughters, well, over protected, I guess, especially with Genie as a baby sitter. Or nanny. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. Perhaps you are right in thinking of me as an alien. I know I am different from you. I agree that Tramp was butchered badly in the sequel. You know, one big reason most of these sequels piss me off is because of how drastically they change the hero into a stuffy, uptight, unlikable dillweed once they have a kid, while their spouse is a personality-lacking sound board. I mean, did Lady even have that many lines or do much of anything in LATT 2 (I can't really recall since I saw that film so long ago)? And I swear, all the plots seem to be about the same basic theme: the brat kid disobeys their parents, and ends up "learning/or teaching a very special lesson".

^Yup, Lion King 2 did the exact same thing. Obviously, they forgot that quality is better than quantity. _________________

As did The Little Mermaid 2. That's why I NEVER want them to do a sequel like that with Aladdin
Maybe if the series writers handle it or something, but not some new person. Definitely not. |

The only things I really like about TLM2 were Tip and Dash (hey, I love cute, goofy animals).
But can anyone imagine an Aladdin sequel revolving around Al and Jas' kids? I shudder to think what one might be like. |

I know! They ruin all the characters. Ariel's not herself, neither is Simba! Neither is Tramp, and Lady only had a couple of lines. We didn't see Nala much, either in TLK II. That's probably what saved the two Aladdin sequels and the series. There were no kids yet. They didn't get married until the end of the third movie. They better not do another sequel! Like, Pocahontas II was all right. It wasn't as good, but it was okay. I was kind of sad that she didn't end up with John Smith.:(But I guess it makes sense. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. The writers might as well have chucked Nala and Lady out of both their respective sequels if they weren't going to do anything or show up much (really, both girls should've been more proactive then what they were). Thankfully, I heard that sequels are being phased out in exchange for spinoffs and stuff, so it looks like the Disney characters are safe.
BTW, why didn't the LATT2 writers use Scamp's sisters' old names (I know Scruffy was one of them), I wonder? Instead, they were annoying, shallow ditzes, and they were WAY more likable in the LATT books.
Pocahontas II was tolerable. From what I recall, it didn't make me angry like the other sequels. |

Yeah, Pocahontas 2 was tolerable. I actually liked the song "Where Do I Go From Here" so that helped. Haven't seen LATT2 in a very long while so I don't really remember details but I know it creeped me out after the first viewing.
I know I never really liked that Angel pup/dog? _________________

I can't recall much about Angel, so I guess she just wasn't interesting to me. Peg was a *way* more memorable and cooler char. |
