I didn't like the vids as much as I thought I would, because unfortunately, a lot of people are taking this seriously and actually really hate the princesses.

With Snow White and Ariel I'm not surprised with the comments, but with Belle I am. That's the untouchable princess. You're not allowed to criticize her ever Razz

The Snow White video was pretty clever "Don't ever eat fruit!" but I didn't like the jokes for Belle and Ariel much. Those are all the same things that people have been saying for years, except they've been saying those things seriously and not jokingly. Maybe I'm sensitive, but I hate when people say Ariel had the best life ever (because she's royalty) and she chose to ran away from it because she was spoiled. Her dad blew up her room. If my dad came into my room and smashed everything with a baseball bat, I'm not a spoiled brat for running away Confused

Eh, people say serious stuff all the time just to raise a fuss. Me? I ignore them. If they want to waste their energy making up crap from nothing, their loss. I prefer the humorous approach.

I mean I make fun of Ariel with my friends, but I still enjoy the movie.

I hear that a lot with Jasmine, too, which irritates the hell out of me as well. Everyone has this kind of "shut up and accept the life laid out for you" mentality about quite a few of the princesses and that's scary. I thought we were out of the 1950s with that mode of thinking Razz

Oh, I was talking in reference to the comments. All the videos are stretched a bit, but the conversations agreeing in the comments I don't find surprising with Snow White and Ariel at all, but I do with Belle as it's usually praise and not criticism she gets.

. I find Belle to be really, really, really over-rated, but a lot of that has to do with the type of people I know that are constantly trying to BE her. I'm glad I'm in a "be yourself" type fandom Laughing

I think Belle gets a lot of praise because of the admirable things she does coming from a plain life. She is intelligent and thinks for herself and usually does what is best for the ones she loves when the people around her do things according to how others view them.
But yeah. I think she is over-praised sometimes.

Me? Obviously, I like Jasmine. Her flaws are believable, and she is very big on being herself.

I actually really really like Jane from Tarzan. I find her adorable. She's very passionate, and she's silly but quite lovely at the same time. IMO she is really underrated. I know she isn't the main character, but she has a long personal growth from frightened lady to passionate woman to heroic and following her own dream.
