Well, I guess I'll start off by saying Aladdin is my life. Kinda sad really, but, eh, what are you gonna do? My experience is quite odd too.

It all began, when I was 2 yrs. old. I had never liked any disney movies. Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White. You name it I found it blah. Until, Aladdin came into the picture. My mother had said we were going to go see a movie called, "Aladdin" and for some reason, I thought that it was going to be way more interesting than all the others I had watched. So, we went to go see the movie, and I was glued to the big screen. I was only 2, and yet I didn't even bother to glance to the side from watching the film.

After we had gotten through with the movie, I had demanded my mother to buy it. She said she would when it came out on video, and until then, I had pretended to be Jasmine. I would prance around the house as though I was her. I had my grandmother make me ten costumes of Jasmine, for dress up. I was her every halloween and every day! Laughing

My mother and father were wondering why I only wanted to dress up as Jasmine, and beginning to worry, since I had actually acted like Jasmine every single minute of my life. They were starting to think I WAS Jasmine Laughing
As I grew older, I had started to wonder about something. I could have sworn that Aladdin looked familiar to me from somewhere. Not a cartoon, but a person. I began to think that, maybe I needed to stop watching the tapes. No way! I reminded myself. But Aladdin, he looked so familiar to me. I was starting to worry if my thoughts were unhealthy.
I began to quote from the movie everywhere I went, and my family was starting to ask my parents if this was normal, and they said they didn't know. Everywhere I went, I was reminded of the movie. I couldn't escape it. It was a thought in my mind that would never let me forget it. I just started to accept it as a part of my life.
When I was about 9 yrs old, I went around the store, jacking apples and fruit and stuff from stands, copying Aladdin and such, not yet old enough to understand that he only did that because he was poor.
I practiced the "apple trick" enough, that I had become an expert on it. Everything in my life revolved around Aladdin. And I had no idea why it was this movie I was so obsesed with. It had never faded from my mind, and still hasn't. Genie, and Iago always made me laugh, Jasmine was who I always wanted to be, and Aladdin was always my hero. It was as though I could jump into there world and fit right in. But for some odd reason, Al had always been so familiar to me. And Jasmine had fit my personality.

Well, that is my weird and long story, and now here I am, 14 yrs. old, and almost the same way. Laughing Eh who knows, maybe it isn't that strange of a story after all.

Exactly, and my parents were about ready to take away anything that had to do with Aladdin. *embraces movies and collection of Aladdin objects*

*Won't mention that the store she stole it from is her present place of work*

I would always get the huge rolls of bread they sold in GIANT run around the store with it pretending I was Aladdin's sister.

As a child, I always wanted to be the rebellious thief, rather than the determined princess. My mom quickly put a stop to that.

This is hilarious; they were afraid when they made the movie that it would encourage kids to steal, and I always thought that it was ridiculous that they would even think that until I heard you guys. Laughing

Yeah, I had a short moment in my life when I wanted to be like Aladdin, but Jasmine was more my style. My mom basically stopped my theif spree in a heartbeat.

Laughing Yeah, I'm living proof of that idea. You can ask my mom *nods*. We all have a theif problem in this house, unfortunately; But it's just from each other. It's the thieves den in the flesh Laughing

But I never took anything HUGE like money. I wasn't that crafty yet Wink , but I stopped around age 8. All it really was was candy anyways. It's not like the military was going to miss a .33 cent bag of skittles. And the "I'm only in trouble.." line has always a personal motto before the movie. He just certified it Very Happy

And yeah, I've done the OJA scene a few times too whenever my mom buys a loaf of French bread. It usually consists of me jumping over my couch and running up stairs Laughing

Yeah, I've done the whole OJA routine quite a few times. It involves me outside on the swingset and a bunch of my dad's old building sticks. It also usually involves pain and a bunch of dirt in my mouth... Embarassed

I watch disney films when i was ten and hated them all. In fact, I hated Disney completely at the time. And that was my opinion until i got a vhs edition for the Lion King.

I loved it very much and became an avid fan. I decided to give other disney films one more try. Unfortuately, I found none of them exciting (i didn't see aladdin).

Later, some TLK friends of mine met together to go see the TLK IMAX on its release date. Of course, we didn't see it just once. We went several days each week (generally weekends). eventually, the previews for TLK included the Aladdin Imax. Having never saw it, I thought it might be a good idea to see. However, none of my friends were really interested. One of my firends even claimed (please don't hurt him) Aladdin was nothing more than a ripoff of The little mermaid (I have no idea where he got that). Desipte this, I decided to go see it anyway. The first time I saw it (I forgot I had a meeting that day with some friends), I walked out on it after 15 mins. I found it quite interesting. So that week, I decided to see it again…the whole thing. I liked it, but wasn’t into it.

Later, I saw Aladdin on Disney channel (this is quite recent) and it grabbed me. I went out to get it on DVD (cause I know Disney butchers its films for TV). I also went to get the sequel DVDs. Literally, overnight, I was an obsessive Aladdin fan. I have continually watch Aladdin and its sequels since then.

And here I am.
