I am a huge disney fan and was most pleasantly surprised to have just discovered this website. It is an entire website dedicated to Aladdin...it has information on all the animators, actors, Aladdin artworks, tons of lyrics and downloads. But I was shocked that there was not even a single mention of the man behind the music. I mean does anyone even know that Alan Menken and Howard Ashman/Tim Rice wrote the songs?
I hope to see the moderator of this website dedicate an entire link or section to Alan Menken. Does anyone even know that he has won more Oscars for music than anyone in history?!?! Yet no one knows his name!!!!!!He has not been given the credit he deserves.
But besides that....kool website! _________________ 'Let me share this whole new world with you....' |

*bows* Of course we know who he is. He's our musical God
Gilbert: So he writes songs-big deal.
Scott: So he's won 8 oscars. I mean, there's probably people who have won more than 8…probably.
Gilbert: Bring someone out who one nine and let's see what a big shot this guy is.
Scott: Not so tough now.
And I own just about all of his Disney work |

*bows along with AG*
I have to agree, Alan Menken is like the god of all music in the Disney world.
I love the work he did for Newsies and Aladdin, and the other movies he has done.

I didn't know Alan Menken until I got the DVDs and watched the extras stuff, so since last November I do. _________________

I figured it out when seeing Pocahontas, I guess I was 7. I was all like, "COOL! Did he write pwetty music for other movies?"
So I researched...I researched everything at that age, I still do. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

Do I know him? Are you crazy? (Like these other guys said) I am surprised he's not like a god!!! He is an awesome guy! I SO wish I could write songs like he could. (I like to compose songs and stuff.)
He is the *MASTER OF THE MUSIC*!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I know another person that I like their songs better than his.
