Were you mad when you saw that he hadn't pardoned Cassim and he left at the end of the film? I was a little mad, but I guess it shows that he is fair, and isn't like, bribed, or something. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. I was not upset. Unlike Aladdin, Cassim did nothing to repent his crimes. He was truly a criminal. He didn't save Agrabah from an evil sorcerer, or win the love of his only daughter.
The Sultan was kind enough to not send out a man hunt for Cassim, but as for not pardoning him... it was to be expected. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

No. I would have been kinda mad if he did, actually. That just would have been WAY too happy and obvious, I guess. And besides, it's not like Cassim came back and was like "Oh yeah, my bad. I'm sorry for stealin', pops" .
Even as Aladdin's father and the sultan gaining a new son-in-law, that's not enough of an excuse to pardon him just because. Now, that might swing in Cassim's favor for having a hearing or a meeting with a sultan over it, if he does feel the need that he wants to be pardoned, which I don't think he does right now. Well, right then when the movie was going on, but not right then because it would take a while.....yeah, you get what I am trying to say |

Yeah, in a way, I was sort of glad the Sultan didn't pardon him. That would sort of say something bad about the Sultan. That he was corrupt, or something like that. And I guess he wasn't really that that sorry for the life he led. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. Yeah, let Cassim try to be pardoned during the movie. You know what sultan would have said to him?

Is that where you got your idea for the avatar? It would have been funny if the Sultan had actually said something like that. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. No, I wasn't mad. I liked the ending. It wasn't too fluffy, and Aladdin's suggestive eyebrow's made me laugh.
The thing I was mad at was how they just let Iago go like that! After ALL they've been through? I'm sure if it was Abu Aladdin wouldn't allow it or if it was Rahja Jasmine would go crazy. Maybe they won't mind Genie leaving so much...but he won't leave no matter how many times they ask. Iago said abu was sad he was leaving but Aladdin sure wasn't crying a river.

He also didn't mind Iago leaving when he helped Cassim escape. I wonder if it was because he knew Iago would come running, I mean flying for help if something happened to Cassim. But he seemed like he didn't want to know any more about him when he left the first time. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. I'm not angered about it. Cassim was dishonest, he stole, he caused the postponing of more than one of his daughter's wedding, and a whole bunch of other stuff. And he wasn't heroic or honest about it like Aladdin was when he came back. And he didn't do what he did "out of love," so it was unpardonable. It shows that the sultan is a fair ruler.
Also if the sultan did, it would be waayyy too unrealistic. That would stink. _________________

I want to know if they ever re-pardoned Iago.
Yeah, but anyway, as cool as he is, he's the freaking King of Thieves, and he was probably wanted in Agrabah long before the wedding. And besides, the other kingdoms would probably be really pissed if they found out Agrabah was harboring him and would want him extradited for his crimes there... _________________ "If only I could believe you. Well, it's not like anyone forced Iago to go. Iago didn't really fit in with the gang during the series either, always instigating trouble and getting yelled at. With Cassim, he could be himself more. Aladdin saw that he wanted to go with Cassim and let it happen. Would he have let Abu or Genie go that easily? Depends on the situation, I think. _________________

I think Cassim wouldn't have fit in anyway. And I mean, how would you like a lying thief in your palace who openly admitted he couldn't change? Meeeeh. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

Would you really want to live with your parents after you were married anyway? It's bad enough they have to live with Sultan. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |
