And then... another thought that wibbled into my head in to the night...
If they merged, what if she/it soon afterword performed...

When Syera told me about this thread, my thought was that you guys are putting waaaay too much thought into this.
Consider this: Though Dhandi said "forever", what she probably meant was a child's version of forever: for the rest of her life. Eden wouldn't neccesarily be bound to fulfill a case of bad phrasing, but rather what Dhandi meant.
Assuming, of course, that Eden would come to the same conclusion. Which, being as how mortals don't tend to last forever, she probably would. I'm personally of the opinion that only a really weird genie would inflict immortality in the wisher. _________________ *

But Dhandi's wish can easily be interpreted either way.
It's like someone wishing for eternal life, but forgetting to make the stipulation of eternal youth. Sort of. _________________

Yeah, when I came up with the immortal!Dondi idea that was more of a weird, what-if scenario; I don't think that's what actually happened. Because Eden granted the wish herself and afterwards reassured Genie that they will be able to be together eventually because "we genies have eternity ".
Random thought: I think it's kind of interesting that every woman who's in a relationship in Aladdin puts her career first. Jasmine puts Agrabah before Aladdin, Thundra's duty as Rain Bird is most important to her, Eden turns down Genie at first because she has a duty to her master, and later puts her relationship with him on hold to raise Dondi, etc... _________________ "If only I could believe you. Well, knowing that bit of information, it probably is likely that "forever" entails Janette's definition - "forever" from Dhandi's POV.
By the way, is there anywhere that tells you officially how her name is spelled? Although it's pronouced like "Dondi," I can't see how someone would pull a spelling as nifty as "Dhandi" out of thin air. (Though, if it IS spelled "Dhandi," then everyone in the show is mispronouncing it, I'm tellin' ya! )
Alas... the writers just didn't think things through like we do. _________________

It depends on your accent because some characters have said it slightly differently on the show. |

I'm talking about the DH part. Many times, an H following a D represents a soft "th" sound, as in the beginning of the word "the," "them," etc. H's aren't usually just added for looks. _________________

It's probably "D-o-n-d-i". It's just that a few sites just have it spelled the other way, because it looks more Arabic.
Maybe when they finally get the episodes on DVD or if somebody actually catch "SEG" on ToonDisney and has the caption on it, we'll find out. _________________

The captions aren't consistent between themselves and aren't even consistent with "official" spellings we know from episode titles, like Mozenrath (some eps call him "Mozenwrath" in the captions). I must have seen like five spellings of Mechanicles... _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Is THAT where that awful misspelling of "Mozenrath" comes from? *Shudders* _________________

Rasoul has a few himself
I think in this fandom, whatever you think goes since not even the people who created half these characters know |

I'm sure some are getting it from that, but if you don't know where the name comes from I can see how you'd think the name was derived from "wrath" somehow... _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Watch ANYTHING with a bunch of weird names in it, (anime's good,) and you'll be able to tell the difference between a captioner that watches the show and one that doesn't. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.
