I remember when I was in a remake of Beauty and the Beast when I was a kid that this travelling group put on at different schools all around the country. It was called Beauty Lou and the Country Beast. (BATB meets Hickville, basically Laughing

) I was Beauty's youngest sister. All I did was cry and make the audience laugh at me not wanting to ever do chores Laughing

. But some of the stuff in that link sounds familiar from the one we did. I do remember going through the script saying "Um...where's the talking furniture?" Laughing

APK, I doubt that there's any you can point to being the "very original one." In fact, the original has most likely been lost to the modifications it received over time, just like any fairy tale.
