I couldn't find a thread for this anywhere so I started one.
Was anyone else really happy to see Barbossa at the end? I was so happy that he finally got his apple! Does this mean that the monkey isn't undead anymore?
Do you think Will knows what Elizabeth did? He seemed pretty mad when he saw them kiss but does he know why she did it? If he does know, I'm surprised he doesn't say, "You're not the girl I thought you were! We're through!"
Either way, Elizabth seducing Jack really made the audience in my movie theater cringe! |

I don't know. They neither showed whether the monkey was "immortal" or alive. Barbossa can technically eat it in his undead form but he just doesn't taste anything.
I don't think he does know. He still seems kinda mad at her t'words the end but seeing Elizabeth pretty upset I think he's kinda just gonna wait to talk to her aftwerwards about it...granted he ever does
Psh, Jack and Elizabeth is waaaay hotter than Elizabeth Will
The highlight of the movie for me (both times I saw it) was the threeway sword fight at the beginning when Elizabeths throwing rocks at them then just sits down indian style and sulks _________________

Well, the plot of the third film is going to the ends of the earth to find Jack... who's to say something like that didn't happen for Barbossa between the two films? The monkey's only undead because he takes another coin out of the chest after the credits in COTBP.
My favorite thing in the movie (aside from OMGBARBOSSA!!!!) might be the very, very nice new look of Norrington. Dirt and revenge seeking does wonders for a man's attractiveness. And, as Jack Davenport described it, he doesn't look like an ice cream anymore. _________________ "This cow's been covered with flour!" |

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Norrington looks hot! He's so much better without that wig! If he gets his job back, I hope he doesn't put the wig back on. I hope they find a girl for him in the next film. Or at least a friend
When Elizabeth says, "Oh, James Norrington. What has the world done to you?" I wanted to yell, "What do you mean what has the 'world' done to him? You're the one who deaded him in the first movie and then hit his head with a bottle!" |

Or a Mardi Gras float.
Who else thinks that Tia Dalma (aka Voodoo Lady) has a connection with Davy Jones? I spotted the locket in the scene at her house and then the similar-looking musical one at Davy Jones' organ. _________________

Anyhoo, I was on a PotC kick and drew this. Yes, I'm aware that our favorite voodoo lady and Cthulu-impersonator don't actually look like that. I'm in the process of coloring it.

And now I'm thinking about the dialouge between LeChuck and Elaine from the beginning of "Curse of Monkey Island". _________________

Amen, Friday when I saw Pirates was my "look harder at the movie and see if you missed things" day and i did get that feeling that something was up between those two... _________________

Yeah, she probably told Jones to drop dead... so he did. Or something like it. _________________

And now, dialouge which vaguely resembles that from "Curse of Monkey Island" between Davy and Tia.
Davy Jones: Join me by me side and I'll make you Queen of the Sea!
Tia Dalma: I can't. I'm....washing my hair.
Davy Jones: Darn yer hair, woman. Can't you see that this crusty old Cephalopod pines for yer caress?
Edit: Anyhoo, I just finished coloring the pic.

Cute pic. It's even better in color.
This reminds me of Aurora and Philip somehow
"When will I see you again?"
(runs) "Never! Never!"
"When, tomorrow??"

I'm somewhat disturbed by the prospect of Davy Jones breaking out in song, let alone a romantic one. _________________

Well, he likes to play instruments and he listens to music boxes. And he's a big romantic. When a girl turned him down he ripped his heart out. Something tells me that they secretly have Kareoke Night on the ship. I can see Davy hogging the microphone and forcing everyone to clap for him. |

I saw it last week, and I loved it. Jack Sparrow is one of the most hilarious characters I've seen in a while!
But am I the only one here that hopes he and Elizabeth DON'T get together? He's cool and everything, but really, Elizabeth wouldn't want to end up with a guy that's been from port to port, if you know what I mean (i.e. the scenes from the first movie with the multiple girls slapping him)? Besides, what about poor Will? He LOVES her, for goodness sake, and he's a good guy. I hope he doesn't end up with the fuzzy end of the lollypop. _________________ Why can't *I* have a boyfriend like Al or Marty??! |
