A thread to post your random Aladdin thoughts, observations, or anything else too small to make a whole thread for.
I have two to start...
- So, I was watching "SandSwitch" the other day and thought, what if that's how the Witches of the Sand took over Agrabah in the first place? It seems like their style somehow...
- Someday I'm going to write an essay refuting all the claims that Aladdin is racist and/or anti-Muslim, and when I do I'm putting this quote that I just found recently in it somewhere. Hopefully you can figure out why...
"Whoever attacks a matter without knowledge cuts off his own nose." - Ja'far al-Sadiq _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Priceless. Is that a real quote? |

The link is wonky if you clicked on it, but this guy definitely is quote-worthy. _________________

Yeah, that's where I got it actually. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Here's a random thought for you: When Jafar is reading the scroll to the sultan, he's reading it from left to right. But it's ARABIC! |

All the time I've spent looking for Aladdin icons on Livejournal and I didn't see that one. No matter. I've got thirteen Jafar ones...yes, that many. |

Maybe he is dyslexic. Or eccentric and just prefers to read backwards to show off his brain. |

Or he just writes backwards like Leonardo da Vinci. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Why is it everything I think of was thought of first either by Leonardo da Vinci or Benjamin Franklin? It's quite frustrating, really...
If Aladdin had his own adventure game, would he stuff things down his pants ala Guybrush Threepwood? _________________

There was a thief in the Ducktales movie called Dijon who did that, too; Amin Dimoola reminded me a lot of him, actually. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Because Benjamin Franklin is EEEVIIIL. (And hasn't been referenced in Danny Phantom yet. Weird.)
I was going to read The Lord of the Rings upside down, but my mom told me to knock it off, since I wanted to get them read before I saw the movies. I might get back to that later.
Where do little genies come from? Why do genies have pointy ears? Why is Genie huge in the movie, but teeny-tiny in the series? Where does Genie get all those books he references?
If Hercules and the Arabian Night happened before King of Thieves, why was Jasmine married? If it happened afterward, why did it take so long for Jafar to reach the underworld?
(For that matter, if the Hercules TV series was set during the movie, why did Hades know he was still alive already?)
Why does Jasmine cry out "Aladdin" between one and three times every episode?
Aaaand that's it for now. _________________ *
