What I really want to know, though, is what about Punzi's boyfriend? A romantically-backward prince sounds even more interesting. And what rhyme does the witch use for Punzi's hair? I guess "Love of my life, let down your lustrous locks" doesn't work in this case, even if it is entirely humorous. |
You've seen "10th Kingdom" too. _________________

I've seen it too. I loved that miniseries. Man, I've been trying to figure out who the heck 'Punzi' was for the longest time.
"Poonzi? Ohhh, Rapunzel!"
I always just assumed they would use "Rapunzel, Rapunzel! Let down your hair!" because that's the one most people use. I wonder if they'll have him actually climb her hair?

Absolutely. I love that movie... miniseries... thing. Especially Wolf's alliterative trip.

'Course he'll have to climb her hair. This is, after all, Rapunzel. Doesn't mean she has to like it, though.
Hope she doesn't have dandruff. Of course, if she did, that would put her one step closer to being as cool as me. _________________ *

Me toooo!! At least the male lead looks like he will be funny. His arrogance humor reminds me of Prince Naveen. So far, Rapunzel looks slightly annoying, but they didn't really show too much of her, and I like her design! _________________

I don't know what to think yet..the backgrounds were really really pretty! The CGI aspect has me a little apprehensive. I think I'm gonna have to wait until the movie comes out before I can say anything. The prince was kind of funny. _________________

Did anybody go and see this? I went and saw it today as a treat to myself after finals.
I have to say, I do love what they did with the story. But then, I always like retellings, subversions, parodies, sattires, renditions--you name it--of the stories I grew up with.
Also, I forgot how much I love seeing Disney movies in the theatre. I felt the same way with Enchanted, but I guess I forgot how awesome it is.
I'm not going to go into detail about specific points I liked yet, because maybe I'm not the only one who wanted to save it for after finals, or decided for another reason to wait on seeing it.
I want the soundtrack, though. And, if they come out with a doll that sings, I want that, too. I've been waiting YEARS for a Rapunzel movie, so I'm understandably psyched right now.
I was also thinking about past Disney Princesses and the differences in time periods and stuff. But that's a conversation we've had here many times.
I'm going to shut up and let someone else talk now.

I had mixed feelings when going to see this movie, but after the movie I was really blown away. I felt like it had some of the old Disney magic. My favorite part of the whole movie was the frying pan, it is cracking me up while I am writing this. |

I loved it! Just got the soundtrack for Christmas too!
I wish Flynn had a little bit more character development. That's my only complaint. I also kind of felt bad for Madam Gothel, but that's not a complaint. _________________

The DVD came out on Tuesday and I just rented it yesterday, and I just wanted to say...it was amazing! I didn't have really high expectations but...wow. I didn't even mind the animation, I thought it was really pretty and the whole thing just blew me away! I really hope Disney's making a comeback. I'm totally buying the DVD
Is it just me or does Flynn remind you ( personality wise ) of Aladdin? _________________

No. He doesn't. But he's still awesome.

Probably me putting too much thought into this, but I didn't mean the whole overly cocky aspect, but when he started talking about how he was an orphan and the Flynnagan Rider thing I sort of got an Aladdin vibe. And it doesn't hurt that he's a thief too. All the trouble he gets into makes me think of Al ^^. Just certain nuances, really.
And this made me laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBwAaJjz2qw&feature=related _________________
