Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine.
When I dressed up like Jasmine, I was so mad at my mother for making me wear a turtleneck with the costume. She did because it was cold outside, but I kept telling her "Jasmine doesn't wear a turtleneck." _________________

Haha I can't begin to tell you how many of my friends' parents made them do that. When I wanted to be Jasmine for Halloween, my mom got me one of the ones the has the see-through pants and the purple vest that shows no belly at all. I think it may have been an I Dream of Genie costume, but I was young enough to believe my mom when she convinced me it was Jasmine's best outfit. |

Mine was one my mom bought the material for and made. It actually looked pretty good. I wouldn't have gone for the purple one (I have seen pics of the costume you are talking about) - I was (ok, am) that much of a "perfectionist" that my mom wouldn't have even tried to pass that one off on me. _________________

Lol.
When you were Ariel, did you have to wear a turtleneck - or was it one of the ones that came with a skin-toned top? |

Hmmm, I don't remember. I actually think, now that I think about it again, that it was just a "mermaid" costume - I was more interested in mermaids in general than Ariel. _________________

That's believable. Perhaps that's why I didn't complain about the unrealistic Jasmine costume - because I was more interested in the fact that it was princessy. I was that way when I was Princess Leia. My mom bought a cheap white angel dress and braided my hair. I wasn't obviously Leia, but I was a princess so I was happy. |

I was a ghetto Genie this year I made my costume from stuff around the house.
I had the baggy blue pants, (which are actually my pajama pants), my Genie shirt that has hsi face on it, a red belt thing I found from fabric in my mother's fabric bag, one earring and my hair up.
I never really cared much for the "costume" versions of Jasmine's outfit. Especially the ones that come with a stomach already |

Plus, I was older when I went as Jasmine - wiser (or so I hope ), more observant. And I naturally look a lot like Jasmine - hard to be a black headed Ariel. _________________

I agree - I will have to see if I can find a pic of me in my Jasmine costume - my mom actually did a pretty good job of making it. _________________

Yeah, AG! Well done! Don't you love homemade costumes? I had to make a homemade Arwen costume for this previous Halloween. _________________

I was Sally from "Nightmare Before Christmas" this past Halloween or rather, a cheaply-made version of Sally. I had a red yarn wig and painted stitches on to my body and face. Kids thought I was Raggedy Ann. _________________
